i have 2 plants, one clone100_1157.jpg100_1153.jpg100_1154.jpg(Purple dragon i believe?) and another that i started from bagseed100_1156.jpg100_1155.jpg. both have problems that i cant seem to solve. im guessing a nitrogen deficiency plus something else in the clone but i have no idea for the bagseed plant. any help or input is appreciated.:bigjoint:

also i believe they were started in "recycled" soil and im starting to think maybe that has something to do with it.

You have a number of different deficiencies there, which usually means the pH is off. Start by testing the pH of the soil itself.

do i have to wait till soil is dry to test ph cuz i use the solution were u put a few drops in the water n it changes color. last time i checked it turned yellow which indicates a ph of about 6-6.5.

I think these plants have been overwatered thru the whole cycle. This, IMO, is the cause of most of your problems.

The lower one looks like over fertilized and watered. Also looks like the lower one has recently been foliar sprayed.

Just remember the addage of "too much of a good thing" Small plants like that should only need to be watered once every two or three days in a "soil" type medium . Fed even less.

And foliar feeding should cease pre-flowering and misting cease when pistils appear in the first week or so of flowering IMO. I just generally mist my plants only in the clone/veg stage.

That's what I see.

the lower one i can understand the overwatering cuz i been adding little amounts of P and K food thinking that was the problem. i just started misting today just incase there was a lockout in the root area. those buds have been the same size for about a week n a half. i usually wait till the top of the soil is bone dry before i water but these problems have been scaring me. any idea on the clone because that one smells the dankest and is actually still growing.

Your top one has no bottom leaves, and as your plant reaches its end, it will draw nutes from the only leaves is has left. So you will see a progression of leaves discoloring then dying.

Overwatering can accelerate this. If the roots are starved, they can't draw nutes from the medium, so the plant "looks inward" for its source of food.

And OW'ing can lead to much worse things, like root rot. And if the leaves continue to die, and the necrotic tissue draws back into the bud, combined with an oversaturated plant you may see bud rot.

That is why I see letting the pots dry out more before watering is the biggest issue....for both plants.

Just my 2cents

ok thanx i will let them dry out before taking any plan of action. after they dry should i hit them with a solid mix of some n-p-k or just regular water? also if u could answer my earlier post about checking ph it would be greatly appreciated!

Is this solution made for testing soil pH or for testing the pH of liquids?

Yes....makes a diff.

As far as what I said about overwatering....just to clarify. When I say allow them to dry out....I mean dry out more between waterings...not necessarily dry them right out. You don't want the soil to shrink and recede from the edges of the pot.

For example. Rather than watering every 3 days, make it every 4.

not sure got the ph tester from a hydro shop they told me to get the first few drops from the bottom of the pot n test it.

Im not organic and man does it make a difference. if i have spots or yellowing and i feed them that...They look completely amazing 2 days later. You might want to seriously try some its probably the best thing ever...ever!

As far as watering.. i use to do the lift test but now i just dig my hands into the top inch or so of the soil, if its dry I water.

-lift test works for me but if something happens i usually freak n feed like a retard... ill look into that great white tho apperantly its a fungus or something that helps with nute uptake n breakdown?

yea i know all about how it works, its really crazy stuff. micro organisms that attach to the roots forming chains and pulling actually handing the roots food keeping the roots healthy so that they can live on them. Its very cool and symbolic not to mention makes your plants ridiculously dank
