2 HLG260 V2 or 1 HLG 550 V2

What's up RIU, hope everyone is doing well.

I had a question regarding which light setup would be better for my first indoor grow. I plan to grow 6 plants for the first grow within either a 4x4 or 5x5 tent and will eventually switch over to a 2 veg / 4 flower or 4 veg / 2 flower cycle (two tents). As for my first grow, would I be better with 2 HLG QB260's or 1 HLG 550. The light(s) will be used for full cycle, thus will 3000k.

Thank you very much!

The 2 X 260 would be the same as the 550 and more economical if you don't mind DIY.

I was going to buy the kits from Grower Lights and have them pre-assembly it for an extra $25. They are an authorized HLG reseller from what I understand. The HLG 260 are dimmable just as the HLG 500 is, correct?

Gotcha. My bad for the late response as I've been working on my final grow list before purchasing. I'm assuming I'm better off getting the HLG 260 R-Specs as I heard they are essentially replacing the regular V2s. If so, the 3500K + lighting will be sufficient enough for full cycle, correct? Thank you very much for the help!

Yes 3500k+660 is good for full cycle.

I'm about to buy 1 of the 260 R-spec DIYs for a little 2x4 tent.

As if you need more encouragement from some random like myself when the man himself has already chimed in, but from all the research Ive done, for the price and performance, it's pretty tough to beat 2 of the 260 DIY kits.

I have one of the hlgv2 260 watt boards... Honestly it is a great light but if I had it to do over I'd have bought a Mars hydro sp250... It's a lot of light for the price... I could have bought almost 2 for the price of my hlg... You could buy 3 and have about 690 watts running in your tent for $780
