2 Different Killings At Dispensaries In Los Angeles

"Man slain at Hollywood pot store -- 2nd killing of the day at marijuana dispensary

An employee was slain Thursday night during a robbery attempt at a Hollywood medical marijuana dispensary -- the second killing of the day at a city marijuana store.

The shooting occurred about 9:15 p.m. at the Hollywood Holistic store in the 1600 block of North El Centro Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Earlier in the day, a worker at a medical marijuana dispensary in Echo Park was killed and another was wounded in an apparent robbery, police said."

If it'd be legal and fully available to every normal citizen, those killings and robberies would definitely cease to exist.

You have a good point but think about this for a minute: How many people got killed in a gas station or liquor store robbery last week - I bet more then two - while there is a lot more liquor stores than 'marijuana stores' people still go around robbing and killing , fact is anyone who wants a med license in a med state can get one so it basically is legal for us.

but back to your point, if it was 100% legal for everyone the price could go down and when not as much money is involved then less people would be getting robbed and killed.

Then again,there is always going to be a few out there that think it would be easier to take whatever you`ve got rather whan get a JOB and pay like everybody else!!

I meant that a robbery or even a killing just occurs if there's something really desirable (like booze or weed) in front of your eyes, some people just flip out and take it by whatever means. A free availability of pot would definitely decrease the motivation of a potential criminal to commit his felony when at the same time he could just go in inside the store and freely buy it, not obliged to show his medical certificate first.

But then again, there are also some people who just can't play fair.

I read that banks have a higher robbery rate then these dispensary by a lot. Heres a page full of google searches from different states with same conclusion.

people are always going to rob, steal and kill no matter what. i bet the authorities are gonna make a big deal out of it in order to put another black mark on medical marijuana in the country. I just hope the public (pot-smokers and people who don't smoke) realizes that shit like this is always going to happen weather it's booze, cash, gold, electronics, etc. it's gonna happen no matter what and has nothing to do with medical marijuana or marijuana in general being the problem. look at the pharmacies that get robbed all the time for hard drugs that the gov. dishes out.

the killing in echo park doesnt surprize me at all...... its well know that echo park is a shitty area

That policy makes us a ripe target for robbery.....12 gauge under the front counter, I have a .45 in my room and the other artist has a 9MM in his.......you can only do so much, just give them the $ and make sure you smoke them if you fire a single round.
