So I'm switching to Led from HID. The "goal post" for me has always been, "1 gram per watt and you're doing good" with hps.

I'm wondering if, and how close, you all are at actually harvesting 2.5+ grams per watt from your Led setups?
Is this feasible? Or is reality more like 1.5, 1.7, 2.0 etc etc..?

I'm just looking for a good starting point to shoot for without trying to get my expectations too high.
Any input is appreciated.

1 gram per true watt would be a great harvest i think.
Fingers crossed that isn't the case.
That would average 137 grams per plant in my setup. The last time I grew something that small it was an autoflower.

ime if you spread your lights out and have them dimmed its pretty easy to get 2g per watt in a big enough space.

strain & grow method makes a massive difference too.

750W in a 4✖4⁉:o That’s insanity‼:hump: How do you keep the Temp ⬇❓ Do you have a journal for this grow:weed:
Yup! Usually runs 5-8°f warmer than ambient temps. Not too bad honestly, I also was running 1500ppm CO2 so my temps sat around 83-86° (on purpose)

1g per watt was always an arbitrary, but realistic, number to shoot for for new growers using HID. To hit that, you can't make any major mistakes, you have to do your research, use decent genetics, etc. It isn't "hard" but it can take practice and possibly multiple grows depending on the individual-some people just have a "green thumb". If you do all of these things well and use modern high end LEDs you can get higher yields per watt, but there is a limit unless you decide to grow in a sealed room with co2. Average growers that I've seen here are getting similar numbers to HID lights-upgraded lighting really makes a difference only once you have the rest of your grow on point.

not really...?
i run 1,330w in a 5x5....
2x 315 cmh
2x 240 dual cob led combo
2x 110w cob led combo
temps 77-80

right now I’m running 600W in a 4✖4 with a 4” intake fan, 6” exhaust fan, 2 clip fans, & a tower fan❗I still have a hard time keeping in under 83℉ :( Also ambient room temp is only 70℉

what kind of exhaust fan. how many cfm
i run 2 6" maxfans. 330cfm and 420cfm
AC infinity, I think it’s 400CFM but not 100
⚠Edit⚠
yeah, I just looked on their site. It’s 402cfm. Does anyone know if I can retrofit a temp & humidity controller for my 6” with just the speed controller?

Here's another question for you all...
I will have 5- 220w boards in my 4'x8'. Is that going to be enough, or do I need to add 1 more?

I think 30w / sqft is a good Parameter for sufficient LED coverage (assuming you have a quality light)
So a good guideline for a 4x8 would be 900-1000w from the wall.
Your 5 lights is 1100, so I'd say you should be good.
They could take more probably, but not much more before you probably need CO2
