1st try pc case grow

Give us some more info. You dont need too much wind on them while they are so small. You also dont need the lights to be right on top of them yet. Once they get going you can keep the bulbs about 2" above em. Are they in soil? Is it too little soil that it dries up in a day? Also, when you water em, make sure you arent watering the leaves because the light will burn the leaves while they are wet.

ok, there is my first mistake - they are right up under the light. the leaves are just dried up and crumbling - and by leaves i mean they are only at the first pair of leaves after those gimpy round ones. the intake fan is down bottom, barely blowing on anything, the exhaust is up top. ive been watering just the soil. they are in plastic cups, with holes on the bottom for drainage. when i look on the bottom, i can see there is still moisture in the cups.

will these guys be able to recover or do i need a replant

i would make the changes you need, and try to save them.

if they die, start over with new seeds.

do you think then, that the dry leaves will just die and new purty ones will grow in? I only have five other seeds - they are all afghani and i really would love to have some of that good good stuff!

you mean will the dead leaves re-grow?

nah i dont think

no i mean, will the little plants grow new leaves? or are they dead for ever and ever

i think if those first set of leaves die before any new sets grow, i dont think it will grow any more becuz the leaves are where the plants get their energy to grow... so i dont think it will survive.

awww mannnn. its so sad, they were all happy and alive yesterday. so i should just germinate some new seeds and call these ones done?

if you dont think you are able to save them, then yes.

lots of trial and error. growing will test your patience.

i dont understand what steps you are suggesting i take to "try and save them" ?? ive started two more germinating

i was talking about the changes you made to your set up, if you think the changes will be able to keep your plants alive then go ahead.

if not, well, you already have your seeds germ'in good luck

do u have a thermometer? if not u can get one that reads both temp and humidity, i find it best to have humidity at around 35-40%, and the cfls atleast 2" away, make sure ur cups are not transparent, and if ur using tap water let it sit 24hrs before using,

ok, they were about 2" from the cfls, the cups are transparent but i taped them up with opaque duct tape. I will try your advice on the water , i am using tap water. Thanks thanks thanks thanks!

live n learn, i remember my first grow only lasted a month, so just learn as much as u can from the screw ups and ull get some good dank

its just upsetting because these seeds came from a hermie afghani plant that i would have worshipped, if i were into that sort of thing. We'll see, i hope my setup is ok at least. 3cfl 40w each , pc tower, intake fan on bottom over reservoir for water, exhaust fan up top, shiny walls (crinkly shiny walls but shiny still)....

this was before they died...

i taped up the clear cups with opaque duct tape after this photo...

the photo only shows two bulbs, there are three...

just make sure those cups are well covered light+roots=stunted plant

yeah they are totally taped up . i'll be putting new seedlings in there soon.
