THC bomb * sweet deep grapefruit
Sweet deep grapefruit * Sweet deep grapefruit (different pheno types)
Ak-47 * critical +
Sweet deep grape fruit * critical +

well i wanted to try to get better thc levels out of the critical... but all strain are suppose to be massive yielders so im just hopeing i get a load of vigorous beans with flavor improvment from the grapefruit....one of my grapefruit pheno has a fuel smell where the other has a more citrus smell im crossing the two, but useing the citrus smelling one to cross with everything else
depends what your looking for

those are all respected strains, so you should get something nice with hybrid vigor out of any crosses you make. the critical+ in particular should benefit from SDG genes as it's mostly about productivity and not highs or flavors. if you love those strains, then you should get interesting hybrids. for me, i'd concentrate more on the SDG flavor than the others' potency, but indicas aren't really my thing. that's the most desirable strain in your collection for my tastes, but maybe you like the 1 hit wonder stone of AK-47 the best.

if you started with good phenos of each strain, you should get nice offspring. not only that, but as you've already sampled them all and know what each is like, you can pick and chose goals to breed for and get your own style plants. that's the great thing about breeding, you can combine strains into hybrids that suit your tastes better than what's available off the shelf.

as i've seen at least 3 of your strains show up in other crosses, critical+ in particular these days, they have to be breed worthy.

i'd much rather work with a stable, true breeding strain such as c99 for that pineapple, citrus flavor instead of sdg any day of the week. c99 is a great strain to work with as it's super stable and is known to be true breeding stock...
not sure i would say the same about sdg..

ak is another very nice plant to breed with imo, as again, it's very stable..

and i'm not much of a fan of the critical strains as i do believe they're based on big bud, which is known to give huge yields of not so potent smoke.. much better options out there imvho.

yeah i know ....thats y ima croos it with ak-47 to maybe get the potency up a lil bit.....this should be fun to say the least.....im not looking for the holly grail.....but im sure there will be somthing out of my critical crosses that will stand out.....also ive worked with c99 i think it was c9 seeds the potency was nice but very airy in my outdoor grow

that's not the ONLY pheno of C99. joey weed's C99s had a more fruity haze pheno, but the textbook racy euphoric and clearheaded high, and one of 'the best" C99s these days, according to reports, is mosca negra's, and that has a wide range of phenos besides potent pineapple including stonier ones. if there's a true breeding potent pineapple C99, then some other breeder has it.

exactly! that's the spirit! you know you'll get some hybrid vigor out of everything in the f1s at least, and should have a blast TESTING everything to find out where the best synergies are.

too many growers get so uptight and control freaky about everything when it's perfectly legit to just chuck pollen for many of us because we can, and the whole process itself only adds to the fun of growing. it makes more sense to me than cloning an army of identical plants that are more prone to stress related issues. that, and it just makes the plants happy reproducing.

sure, if you want to enter the cannabis cup, (if you could even trust it) you should select parents from a field of 100 and test males, but if you're just having fun with your own gear and looking to improve it to your own tastes, selecting plants at the strain level, instead of the pheno one makes more sense and gives you a much wider variety to select from short of BXing.

if you start with two awesome parents from ANY strain, you should get something as nice or even better out of the offspring. that's the whole point of sexual reproduction, jumbling them genes up! too much stabilization, and eventually you run into genetic waning and eventually fatal recessive genes.

imagine all the new and wonderful strains we might have today if cloning was never invented and everyone had to chuck pollen.

welll couldn't leave a message on your non existent bulletin board or pm you either, so i had to track this thread down to say you don't necessarily have to name your crosses before they hatch. i kind of like the idea of naming them after trying them better when they reveal their personalities better.

A bomb is a good descriptive name for your THC bomb, AK-47 as it has a piece of each in it's name as well as the common weapon thread between them. if you'd like, i can brainstorm some working names for you though before sampling as i always have fun doing that. you know, i actually named the strain called edelweiss years ago at overgrow when the breeder wanted a name that implied an exotic highland strain. it's a flower that grows in the alps dudes risk their lives to get for some poonanny, and the name of a funny hip hop tune with yodelling. dude never even said thank you! he could have tossed me a pack at least. oh well

pineapple x thc bomb sounds like a hand grenade to me. (they're even cally perry pineapples in 1984)
