air exchange = very important and at the top of the list for sure. For now we are leaving the door open to the rest of the house and you can feel a big difference in there. It works for now, but the smell will soon need to be addressed along with a more consistent environment.

When should I start LST? They seem to be a little too short right now.

Its never too early to start lst. If you let them get big at all, you'll break them instead of bending. If you read my journal, that's what I did :(

Also, should the rockwool be wet all of the time?
Most people keep the rw about 1/2" above the flood. I put mine 1/2" below, it worked also. If the plants have roots down in the hydroton they'll get plenty of water and air there. If no, you should keep the rw wet.

ouch, I have checked out your journal, but it is pretty long and I don't have the patience to read the whole thing.:bigjoint: pure sativa! and haven't seen that part yet.

I hope to get started on that asap. Unfortunately the set up is at a friends house about an hour away and it will be a few days before I can get back. I plan to go there the beginning of next week to change out the nutes, but that may be too late for some of them. Might have to make a special trip.

A few new pics, just 2 days more and looking better especially in leaf color and spotting is gone(maybe the Hyrdogaurd really helped in just 2 days?). A few have a single root poking through the bottom of the buckets up to 3". I saw some people put pvc pieces between the buckets, anyone have thoughts on that?

Light still about 4 ft above top of buckets. No change in nutes or watering. Did add some additional fans for air exchange, but they are ghetto, so no pics. Just can't swing nearly 400 bones for a can/filer combo right now.

Decided not to LST on the first grow just to have one less thing to mess with and add another chance to screw up.

Thanks for watching and sharing.

Today was reservoir change day and I am happy with the growth that we are seeing. Most are fairly uniform, short and bushy with lots of side branching, one runt and another stretching a bit. Moved the light down about a foot today to make it about 3ft above to try to get some more artificial sunshine to the lower branches.

Thanks to SmokingRubber kiss-assI didn't double the nutes earlier and burn the babies. Still sticking with the below nute schedule with the addition of Hydrogaurd and now moving to week 3. Still playing with 2,3,4 floods per day to find what they like best.

Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow: 5-10ml/gal, weeks 1-4
Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Bloom: 5-10ml/gal, weeks 3-?
FoxFarm Big Bloom: 5-15ml/gal, weeks 5-?

P.S. I'm a pic whore, so I hope you like them.

I would raise the pots an inch or so to allow more water to drain from the buckets. This will also prevent excessive "damming" from lines that are crossing over each other.

Use upside down plates (i used plastic planter pot holders from depot).

Nothing has really changed except good growth from what I can see. There was one runt that I took out today and moved into a stealth dwc set up that I just finished. It is actually a good looking plant standing on its own, but compared to the others not so much. Also made 5 new clones to fill up the rest of the dwc. Not getting into too much detail here as I am going to start a new journal for that one.

Mostly just new pics. The last one shows the smaller section that we made in the bigger room.

Well, we are 8 days into flowing now and I haven't posted shit for way too long. Everything has been going along pretty smoothly and they are getting huge! This system has been super easy and is growing trees for me. This Top 44 strain is relatively short and bushy as hell working its way far out from the sides of the buckets. We probably vegged them for a little too long considering the size they are at now with approx 5 weeks until harvest.

With the plants getting as big as they are they could probably benefit from another light, but it is what it is for now.

The room that we are using won't be available after we harvest this crop, so I am looking for a new location that will be more equipt for venting, adding more lights, etc.

There are 2 sets of pics, some are from about 10 days ago on the last day of veg and the rest are from today after flowering for 8 days.

Finally some newer pics of the girls at about day 35 of flower, but not close to being done. When I bought the clones the dude told me that the Top 44 strain took about 45 days in flower, but with the amount of time in veg they will need a few more weeks probably.

They look awesome to me and I appreciate any input you guys might have. Huge colas on tops! With 11 plants like this anyone want to guesstimate as to what the total yield will be? Each plant is roughly 3ftx3ft at time of pics.

Bad news. The grow areas security has been compromised so we are doing an emergency move this weekend which sucks. Having to rent a u-haul trailer to do a midnight run and relocate them about 60 miles. Hopefully the stress will not be too bad on the girls. I bought a bunch of 2 gal pots from HD and am hoping to transplant the net pots into these for the move without having to disconnect everything from the controller, but we will see.

On the bright side, the new room has a new 8" Can type fan (Sunleaves) and CanFilter (size 60 or 66, can't recall, but it's freaking huge!) along with a 6' light rail hung from the ceiling. The walls are covered in panda and about 3ft high of mylar blankets to hopefully help with development of some of the lower small popcorn buds. Planning on using the filter/fan combo to scrub the room and recirculate along with a window fan blowing air out into my window well hidden in my dog run.

Looking forward to some input. BTW, I smoked some Super Lemon Haze while doing the work and got done in 1/2 the time I thought it would take. I love Sativas for work time!

I've been flushing for 10 days now and the girls are getting 24hrs sleep before they are chopped this weekend. Things have been going great with the CAP system and the only real issue has been smell. Even with the huge can filter you can smell the shit in my yard. Fortunately there are some flowering trees right there also, but this space won't be used again at least with this large of a crop. It makes me nervous as hell regardless of being a legal patient.

Here are some pics that were taken today just before lights out. Let me know what you think. I probably should have pruned a little better along the way. There are crystals everywhere and the pistils have turned about 70% amber.

Those plants look great! Especially for a first grow. My hat is off to you, man. I wish my first grow had looked like that!

yo next time when you do e.f use 25gal worth nute in the 50gal and get a better timer im sure it comes with one and have it flood every 5 hrs. and never use molasses with that system go buy some sugar daddy which is a hella lot better for water type systems. and u can use hps from start-fin and if your using a hps system you can run both bulbs. because its the same thing except hps has a ignitor that it uses to start the bulb thats why the bar doesnt connect liuke mh bulbs do. so if you ever get a mh system just go buy an igniotr and your good to go. i got my certificate(college level) for industrial technology. so i built ballast and break press and robots etc. hope that helps for future ref.
