Hey everyone,
I am in day 31 of flowering under a CFL closet setup. In the past week or so, I have noticed some changes in a few of the fan leaves. The outer tips are blackening and dying off. There are also some large spots forming on a few of the leaves. see attached pics below, I also attached a bunch of other pics of my setup and the overall plants. Its two plants, one in the back on the right that bends to the left, and the front one is on the left and bends right. I trained some of the lower stems to go straight up and are getting some good colas goin. Any feedback/criticism would be appreciated One thing to note is that it is pretty hot. The high temps are around 95 and lows about 70. RH has been b/t 30 and 50%. Is it a pest or just heat damage?
Thanks,
JP

oh forgot to say Im using foxfarms OF soil with their big bloom tiger bloom and growbig schedule. PH is a bit low between 5.3 and 5.8. Appreciate any help
Thanks again

at first ur temps got my attention.95 is way hot,85 max.the pic with the random whole in it looks like a caterpillar kinda,LOOk under ur leaves and check for bugs.NICE LST work though.im doin my first grow and doin lst also.those others kinda look like a nute burn but def the heat is a problem.

I know its pretty hot, but most of the time its low 80's or high 70's...it only gets that hot durring the heat of the day on usually hot days, not to mention I also have ALOT of ventilation for a space that size...I've been looking for critters and the only thing ive seen is a small little leaf hopper i already took care of, no sign of mites or white flys or anything...Can anyone confirm nute burn, heat stress or a combo of any number of things?? I though it could be nute burn but its very irregular across the plant and there are a few different signs of poor health so im kind of at a loss... Thanks for the Rep on the LST... it seems to be working well for my small time CFL grow...hopefully I can get enough to get me through a month or so...Ill be back to check on it in the morning, but for now its a bong rip and bed
Cheers,
JP

I agree, it looks like you were a little heavy on the fert, but not too bad. I also agree on the caterpillar/bug theory, but don't really have any advice for ya, other than, wait it out. They look really good, otherwise. So, unless the damage gets much worse, I wouldn't sweat it, because they're getting close to those final weeks where plants start "showing their age", so to speak.lol Get the heat down a little, and it looks like you have a pretty nice CFL setup. Congrats, man.:blsmoke:

Alright cool, thanks for the input, I was thinking ill lay off the nutes for 10 days or so, then give them one or two feedings before I flush them. Any thoughts or ideas? Unfortunately there is not really anything that I can do to bring down the temps...Its at least 90 outside during hot days and I live in a single story house with no A/C so the room gets baked pretty bad when its warm outside right now...Thanks for the rep on the CFL setup... I was having my doubts when I started cause people like to hate on CFL setups...seems to be working well for my needs though...
Cheers
JP

IMPORTANT, if you are growing in SOIL, your PH needs to be around 6.7 to 6.9 NOT between 5.3 and 5.8

Fix your ph to 6.8 and you should see an improvement.

How should I go about raising it?? My local tap water is around 7, so should I just rely on that to bring it up or should I add a base of some kind to do it quicker??

^You should flush it with that 7.0 water, until the runoff comes out close to 7.0. If it was earlier, I'd tell you to add some lime, but if it's only 3 weeks or so, that's not necessary. Flush til you bring the PH back up, then you'll be good to go.
