1st Grow

So I wanted to be able to show RIU my setup. I am always open to input and advice. I had saved up for about a year to put together my tent. Mostly my bucket system. I'm assembling a recirculating DWC system, but I have some leaks I need to fix. So in the mean time, I am growing two medical cannabis plants in Royal Gold coco Basement Mix, as well as some basil, cat nip, strawberries, broccoli, and romaine.

You can see I have a 1000w MH light with cool intake and exhaust on the same timer 18/6. I plan to switch to HPS 12/12 after 4 or 5 weeks of veg. There is a Co2 bag hanging just behind the light in the first picture. I have the separate scrubber with an exhaust to pulsate on 1 hour, off 1 hour during light-on hours; off during light-out hours. I'm thinking I might want to have it turn on at least once during light-out ours?

I'm using Fox Farms - Grow Big and Primordial Solutions - Sea Green. The first two weeks I have been watering every other day, and altering waterings with nutrients and water only. I'm going to start using nutrients every watering as the plants have seem to transplant well and are ready to flourish.

Still learning every day. I plan on getting a scrog together before too long. I'm about to start my 3rd week in. I want to get an A/C unit on the cheap to put inside at some point. Does anyone have an idea about blowing fuses? I live in an apartment, so with my tent, a heater we have in the living room, and my girlfriends blow dryer, the fuse will occasionally blow. I'm just worried that if I continue to add electronics to my tent that I will eventually reach a point where I can't pull enough energy.

That's my grow. I'm sure I'll update more as time goes by.

keep the exhaust going full all the time, never shut it off, its the most important of your airflow, the tent should always be sucked in tight!!!!i grow in a tent as well check out my small setup, not far off from yours!!!!NICE!!!:joint:

I was just watching your video. Nice setup.

The exhaust fan on my light goes all of the time when the light is on. The scrubber fan is the one that pulsates. I want to give time for the Co2 from my Co2 Bag to build up to raise the ppm. Then exhaust to cycle fresh air plus keep it cool.

I was wondering if my tent was supposed to be sucking in so thanks. I pull air out of the tent and into a filter.

Nice start, welcome to the pains and joys of growing cannabis; more joy than pain if you take the step to learn and research. Subbd.

Thanks! I've been researching for far too long. It feels good to finally jump in. I just can't wait to swim around (in a SOG). :D

i like to tie because you can manage them easier, i do like the scrog as well BUT for me, i stress the plants and like to take them out of the res ad examine them, with a scrog, they are in there and its a nightmre if one hermies, cuz you just cant look around like you need to, IMO, BUT, to contradict my self, i may do a scrog with my 2 babies, just because i wont be around the grow as much to be tying them, so with a scrog you can keep them from the light with less maintainance, but tyng down is more convenient!!!!
Hydrocropper, I see you just use a tie down method. Do you prefer it over a screen method?

Ima tie down person myself been thinking about that screen but its something about Bamboo sticks and a zip tie or string. you can just control the plants direction more, however does account for a little more veg time for the plant to recoup, but its usually worth it with the nodes that are produced in turn. JMO....

How much more Veg ?
And and what point in Veg do you actually top and then tie down???
Do you continue to tie down the same stems as flower comes or begin to untie those and tie down others?

If this is redundant please excuse.

tie down whatever needs to be or whatever youre trying to accomplish. My entire grow there is some sort of tie down whether its tape, yarn, supercropping, which i do a lot also!!!! i stress the hell out of my plants during veg, then try not to at all during flower, with the exception of some lower pruning!!!!

think of it like semi bonsai. i usually tie my plants down to make the lower branches sturdy and bigger for more buds then the plant tends to become a bush.
and the veg time depends on how much pruning an tying you do usually 2-3 weeks enough to recoup.

That was 5 minutes after tying them down. So they hadn't adjusted at all. My next post, I'll upload a picture from about 17 hours after tie down.
