1st Grow

SO this is my first attempt at actually growing a plant, I am in the process of germinating 10 or 11 bag seeds I have been saving for the occasion and i am using the paper towel on a plate on top of the fridge method. It is nice and warm and dark up there so hopefully they will crack. Also I have two seeds that I just put right into soil without germinating to see which will have the better results.

My grow area is just my normal closet and it is about 2' deep 1' wide and 5' tall. I just want to get one or two plants and I am going to be using all flouro's for the lighting. I went and picked up (4) 42 watt cfl's. I am going to get some pictures on here once i get battteries for my camera. I am just looking for some personal stash out of this thing so I am not worried about getting big lights.:hump:

Make sure your bulbs are 6500k spectrum for veg, and hang them horizontal over your plants..GL get them seeds cracked!

they are the full spectrum bulbs, each one puts out about 2700 lumens. I am not sure about flowering yet, i have some time before that happens, would i be able to use the full spectrum lights for flowering, like i said I just want a personal yield, I am not trying to make money or anything so I am not qorried about getting a small yield, I just want to experiment and get the hang of this whole growing idea before I start investing more money into the project. can you dig?

Day Two now, i had some seeds left over from the germination so i put them simply in soil, i am not going to try to germinate them. I have some seeds germinationg now in a plate but I have 7 seeds sinmply in soil and I was wondering about watering. How often should I be watering them. They are only days old

Day 5:
Happy Labor day to everyone at rollitup and what a beautiful day it is here, Cup #7 has sprouted finally and hopefully I will get my buddy's camera over here to post some pictures for you all to see.:hump: One question I had though is when should I start putting a fan on them, I think it is too early but I am still a newbie at this whole growing thing.

another question i had is about the seedlings, should i put them into a high humidity envirionment? or just mist them?

how many 2700 lumen cfls do you have? im growing the same way with those lights. some people advised me to use 6500ks but i never found any. i went through veg and now 1 week into flowering and there doing fine.
PS good luck!

Day 7:
Another seeds finally sprouted over night last night, I am gonna give the rest a couple more days and if not then I am just going to concentrate on these two sprouts. I was wondering, I don't want to over water them but when i stick my finger into the soil it is dry pretty far down, about how often should I water the seedlings?

Day 10:
I finally got batteries for my camera and i updated the grow setup i had so i figured I would post some pictures. Plant 1 is the bigger of the two and i growing very fast, plant two is a couple days behind the first one but catching up fast. I am really excited that I was even able to sprout them. I can't help but just sit here and look at them while i blaze, it will be so fulfilling if I can grow them.

Here is a couple pictures of my setup, it is a small and very cheap setup for my first grow, I am not expecting a lot, i just want to practice. Right now It is all just experimental till I am out of college. It is just a small closet with (4) 42 watt cfl's hanging from hangers into a tub lined with foil... like i said, very cheap

By the way, after posting the pics i realized that plant two looks remarkably like angel wings so I think I am naming her Angel
