This is my seedling of 1-2 weeks of age. Just got transported to a different pot that has better drainage, i think shes in a bit of shock due to her leaves losing a bit of its green (especially the bottom round ones but i hear that doesnt matter). Those are 2 26 watt (100 equiv) CFL, and i have a fairly big rotating fan. My space stays at 78-82 degrees constantly throughout the day and i have her on a 24/0 light cycle. Advice/comments welcomed

the round leaves are supposed to loose color and fall off. everything looks good though, are you getting more lights when it gets bigger?

ya i plan on it, but im sticking with cfl. ill probably add 1 more in a couple weeks then another in a month. look at the last pic, the 2nd siraded leaves are kind of curling at the end. is that bad?

Keep your lights as close as you can. If you see them every day it can be as close as two inches. This will help with my biggest problem (streaching?), The distance between nodes.

you mean stretching? lol ya i had it a lot closer back when i used only one bulb. i moved it back when i added the 2nd cuz i didnt want it to burn from the added heat it wasnt used to

Hey, it's right around 2 weeks now, i think my little seedling recovered well from the transport shock (although the two bottom leaves have lost all their color, although i know that doesnt matter)

overnight it has grown a lot, the siraded leaves are starting to grow the individual leaves that branch off from the main one so im pumped :)

Does anyone know how bad it is that the 2 biggest leaves are slightly losing their green? they are a slight yellow tint now, should i worry? thanks

nutrient deficiency?

And not the nutrients they go into a big plant. my friend killed six seedlings with some miracle grow. so be careful.

They need a fan going. its how they eat. Go one?

Woke up and the 2nd set of siraded leaves have started to split :) check it out

This will be te coolest period for you right now. They will grow so mcuh in this first 3 - 4 weeks you will have something new to see almost every dy.

Enoy!

Another day, another huge growth. When should i add more light/water to my plant? i have 2 26watt (100 equiv) CFL's and i water it, what seems to be ever few days (until my moister meter says its dry)

As long as your temps are under 82. Keep adding lights. After another week you can put those lights within 2 inches of them. Don't rush the little guys thou. Keep bringing them closer and closer every day until they are that close.

i'm right behind you! except for mine is 4 days old as of today. i think it's stretching too much though. i haven't giving it any light except from the sun. after all i am planning on growing it outside.

should i buy a cfl light for now? when should i move it outside?

is it still too young MG?
here are some pictures of kristen...the second one is from last night.

you will want a cfl for the first week of growth.. just until your seedling has proper roots... then you can introduce kristen to the outdoors... a couple hours a day.. increasing the time over a week... you need to harden her off to the outside.. get her ready for the difference in light... then you can leave her out after a week i'd say.. i wouldnt recommend MG... its too potent.. but if its all you can get just use it in like 1/2 strength batches... if you are careful with it you can use it with great success.. but again be careful.. and dont use it until about the 2nd or 3rd week of growth.. seedlings dont need much of anything until then...

so since i have given her sun light only no real cfl light i could buy one and give her that for about a week? 12/12? or more light and less night? she's actually outside right now since it's around 73 degress and a little windy.

after that week of cfl start leaving her outside again?

Its about weed 2 day 3 right now and i just upped the lighting. I now have 4 CFLs on her. 2x 26 watt(100 equiv) and 2x 20 watt (~80 equiv), i connected two splitters by putting them both in the reflector i have, and are keeping them from touching eachother with a few random parts and a lot of engineering.

after this was all said and done, however, the temp rose to 86-88, so i put the fan right on the plant instead of rotating and now its down to 82-84

let me know what yall think, any advice welcomed.

well if she is already outside dont worry about the cfl... i thought you were giving your seedling window lighting or something.. if you have had it outside so far this whole time then its fine.. make sure its getting 18 or more hours of light tho... if you need to get cfls to supplement that, ie you only have 15 hours of light right now, then do so... but if you have enough light during the day right now and your plants is used to being outside your fine...

lighting is MUCH better... you are going to want to figure out a way to seperate them a little more as the plant get s bigger so you can hang them around the plant to help... they have HUGE clfs at home depot now.. they are 300w's... big son of a bitches... if you can save up and get one and a socket for it, and figure out a way to surround your plant using the other cfls you have now, you'll have a really nice plant.. not that you wont with the cfls you have now.. but, it still isnt a lot of lighting you have.. its DEFINATLY a huge step though.. youll see a huge difference just with those extra ones you put up!!

Little seedling starting to take off in growth since i added those 2 lights.

However ran into a problem. Now my closet gets up to 90 degrees so i added in a little gizmo that has 2 computer fans rigged to a fuse and i have those blowing and i try to open the closet everytime im home. in addition, i raised up the lights about an inch. Ill see how that affects the temperature.

Havent watered her in like 4 days, my moister meter is swearing its still moist down there so im trusting it for now.
