This was my first grow. indoor with fox farms ocean forest.
I started with 3 seeds I had collected from various bags. (2 turned male and the only one left was the OG.) I started them in nature's care potting mix under CFLs on 7/22 they were 1 week from sprout.

By 8/21 (week 5) one of the CFLS had fell on my OG plant and burnt some, kinda topping it again. I switched the lights 12/12 after she recovered. I got a used 1000 watt dimmable ballast and hood too. Again the only one that was a female was the OG far right side.

8/26 (week 6) only used the 1000 watt hps one day and my wife kinda tripped on how bright it was and heat was an issue without the proper setup. So back to cfl.

2015-10-11 19.04.43.jpg 8/28... 11 days after the 12/12 flip they were showing signs of sex. 2 males and one female. At least the female was the biggest of the 3. Killed the male's off and got some nutes. Just got fox farm tiger bloom. Used 2 cap (about 2 tsp) fulls to one gallon of water once a week. I have only been watering twice a week.

Good job and good luck. If you blow a fan on that 1k it'll drop heat significantly. If u run cfls all the way keep them 1-2" away. If some leaves don't get a lil burned they arnt close enough. Also blow a fan on them aswell. CFLs can grow great fat buds if u do it right but they gotta be uber close and 42w are best ones to use. Hang em vertical if u can so they are parallel to the ogs stem as opposed to over top like an hps. Ull get way more coverage that way cuz cfls won't penetrate for shit. 3 inches and there worthless.

Better way of explaining cfls. Pretend a soda can is a bud. If u have a cfl horizontal over it, the bottom 1/3 is getting useless light. Plus top paet of bulb light is wasted...so ur using only like 30% max of that bulbs lumens. If u have two soda cans (buds) about 3-4 inch apart and u put a cfl vertically top down between them then the whole bud is getting full intensity of the bulbs light, not just very top so ull get a full dense nug not just a decent top and fluff underneath. Plus ur using both sides of bulb so ur using whole bulb. So instead of having those bulbs like you do if u had them hanging down in between buds ud be gwtting. WAY more lumen output. Difference is equiv of having a 400 watt hps 30" away and having it 10" away. The diff is that significant. Anyways, up to u. That's best and most efficient use of cfls.

NVM u went back to hps which is much better. Good luck

Tomorrow is the 8th week of flower.

I think it's getting close to harvest. I have a loop and see mostly milky. Want to try and hold out another week for some amber to show up. Only seen a bit on the sugar leaves. Time to start thinking about harvest soon.
