Right, starting first grow, heres my setup, its only small!

Homebox XS 0.6m x 0.6m x 1.2m grow tent
125 Watt CFL 6500K (Blue)
100 bulb blue/red LED grow panel (for supplemental lighting, I know theres much contoversy over whether or not these actually work).
Phat Carbon Filter with inline fan and duct for extraction

2 Arjans Ultra Haze #1 Feminized Seedlings goin good at the mo, in soil, 2nd leaf set now showing, only thing is they seem to be leaning slightly to one side, although I've read this should sort its self out once its established better roots???

I believe I chose the wrong strain and maybe would've been better off with an indica in such a small space. But whats done is done I guess, am hoping some LST will help with size.

From what I've read I'll need to change up the bulb for flowering, I'm not gonna be able to afford anything but CFL (also heat may become a problem and I would lose height room with a hotter lamp), so do u think its worth flowering if I just change the bulb to a 125W 2700K Red spectrum bulb??? Or maybe get a second fixture and use two of these? Also still using the debatable LED as a supplement? Is flowering with CFL's really bad?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

EDIT: I also got some AN Sensi Grow + Bloom 2 part Nutes with the tent, they look more directed towards hydro setups? Will these be any good in soil when it comes to that stage?

i should be ok because homebox dont use PVC for that very reason.

As for the CFL's, that my main worry when it comes to flowering, if i'm lst'ing will that help?

They would if you arranged the CFL's up and around the plant(s). Personally, I'd get a 250W HPS. It's the most efficient light for your tent's size, just watch the heat. You might be able to get by with just a simple 80CFM computer fan as an exhaust, or you might need something more substantial. It all depends on what the average temps are in your grow area. The 400W system is only a little more expensive, but I think it will be too hot for your tent. By the way, I have the larger Homebox and there isn't a problem with gasses emitting from the lining. I don't believe it was Homebox' tents that ever had that problem to begin with.

yeah me neither, there's a huge section on the homebox site explaining that they dont use PVC and it goes into great detail describing the materials that they do use and why they chose them!

i have a 10cm in line duct fan with a phat carbon filter on it, so i think i could get rid of the heat, its just i'm more worried about losing space by having to position the lights a lot further away from the plants, is this much of an issue with a 250W?

Any idea on prices of a 250W HPS in UK with ballast etc?

Maybe if i could scrape the funds for one of these in time for flowering, along with the a 2700K 125W CFL and the LED Grow panel that I have?? How u think that sounds???

BTW i have tons of old computer fans about as I build PC's, thinking of positioning a couple small ones on the plants so they got a bit of a breeze, however, I don't have a clue about wiring them up outside of a PC, I have searched about but cant seem to find anything, anyone got a link???

No idea what UK prices are, sorry(check ebay). Here's the thing, with your current light(s) system, you could grow one nice plant, maybe a meter or a little taller. For two plants, you need the 250W HPS. One thing you can do with the PC fans is use an old power supply and splice a few wires, then plug it in.

i only have 1.2 metres to grow in anyways, but i'm guessin to keep the two plants goin, i''ll need more.

you mean an old PSU for a PC, how would i get it to power up without the power button going thru the motherboard?

You know I hadn't thought about how to power the PSU on. I've seen it done before, but I don't recall how. Alternatively, you could wire each PC fan to individual cell phone chargers. Used ones are dirt cheap. If you do an advanced searc for "power supply" in the thread title, you'll get a bunch of thread for how to do the PSU thing. That light you linked to looks fine, and that's about what we pay here in the US. The baby is looking fine, but a little stretch-y. Get that CFL closer if heat isn't a problem.

nice work, 'search by thread title', the key to all my searching problems lol

Have found a thread and got a psu powered up, just connect two pins with a wire that the motherboard would usually do to switch it on!

Is the strech gonna do much harm? It happened when they first sprouted, since which i have moved the light a lot closer and they have grown outwards rather than upwards, i have also switched to a 20/4 light cycle rather than 24/0 as they were leaning quite badly, and after one 4 hour dark period they have straightened right out, was this the right thing to do? or will the dark time cause more stretch?

sorry for all the questions lol, feel well noobish. but cheers for the help Cr8z13, ur a star mate

stretching wont harm it as long as you correct it ;) as far as cfls my last grow which was my first lol was all cfls.. for flower and veg you need a decent amount i had 4 females at 2 per plant and they grew just fine i added some tube lights for side lighting. i got 2 plus ozs off of each plant so you can get some decent bud but the weed wont be as heavy or dense so this go im adding a 200 hps to the mix for flower.. but dont get to worried you can finish your whole grow with cfls and get some good quality stuff it just will not be as good as if you add better lighting ;) best of luck!
