1st Grow: Just some Bag Seeds, a Waterfarm and a guy that loves smokin LOL

Whats good RUI peeps!!!!

So I got tired of bullshittin with the hustlas to find some "good good" so I thought I'd take a stab at it and grow my own shit n say fuck em all!!! This is what we are working with here....

(2) 16watt CFL Daylight R30's
A few bag seeds (might b Kush, fingers are crossed!!!!)
WaterFarm Complete
Rapid Rooter Plug(s)
2X4x5 Grow Tent in the corner of my bedroom! lol

gonna need more light just throwing that out there, if tight on money keep an eye out on craigslist and such, I scored 2 430w HPS setups for $150!

Aight guys so here is the 1st set of pics. I Germinate all my seeds using the paper towel with a bowl method. Seems to work pretty decent that way. I spoke of a Grow Tent in my 1st post but at this point in tim I didnt have it so check out my GHETTO ASS set-up lol. It consist of a Dirt Devil box, some aluminum foil and my handy dandy Thermo-Hygrometer LOL. After arts n crafts time in the living room I think it came out pretty alright

No doubt bro! I only plan to keep two or three (depending on which are females ofcourse) of my girls so I thought this 150W HPS would do the trick..What do you think? I planned to buy it before I start to flower

DAY 2

Alright peeps...and here we are on day 2 (11/21). I woke up and another seed grew a pretty good root so I thought..Oh what da hell lets plant this one too!! lol

So we now have 2 bag seeds in the WaterFarm. Its still in my ghetto set-up but hey..that thing did the trick lol

DAY 3

Ok its day 3 (11/22) and the 1st seed has completely got out the shell and it showin some skin! The other is pushin up, up and away so i figure another day and its good.

DAY 5

Alright So its Day 5(11/24) and the 1st seed has grew pretty good and got some leaves, the 2nd is still rollin out of bed and...yes there is a 3rd seed now. I woke up again and another sprouted a root so..once again i said fuck it and threw it in da farm!!!

So now..we have 3 Bag Girlz
1st-Planted 11/20
2nd-Planted 11/21
3rd-Planted 11/23

Oh yea my Super Duper Grow Tent came in today so check the pix. Sadly I threw my ghetto set-up away..
But I must warn you all.... My shit is still ghetto lol. I set-up a little fan to get some sort of circulation in, and I had to put this lil walmart lamp in the tent to hold the clip-on lights up.


BTW at this point in the grow im only using water. I figured I wouldnt need to add the Flora Series Nutes (came with WaterFarm) until they all are atleast 2in tall. Was this not a smart move????? yea, just thought id throw that out there

I have had very decent results with two females under a 150w hps, more watts = better yield though

DAY 6


Alrighty so its Day 6. All is well I guess. I went ahead and added 2.5ml of each nute in the Flora series just for GP. Havent seen anything negative happen so I guess we will see what happens. I was so skeptical cause I see threads and posts on Nute burns so much that quite frankly it has me scared as shit. I dont wanan do anything that will put da ladies in harm!!

...so anywho it seems like growth has slowed a lil. I could have stressed them when I tried to move around the hydroton.Is that likely??? Well "I hope not but IT seems like they all have slowed a lil. It might be from me "eye fucking" them all day lol so ill just rest on it for another day or two n see how growth is



BTW..when you plant a seed..and it spouts up and shows some green...What is wrong if the leaves are all curled under? I read it could be heat stress or too much light but damn..how far should you have the light from the top when its in the early stages????

Ok bro can you break down what exactly im looking for when buying lights? Ive heard more watts is better...but what about for CFL's? CFL's have that equilevant shit on the package so I dont know what to go by then. I know its pretty much cut n dry when it comes to the HPS or Metal Halide so no need to explain on that note

CFL's equivalent pertains to regular incandescent bulbs. Personally when I used CFL's I would use at least one 85w CFL above per plant and 3 -6 27w CFL's around the mid to bottom area around the plant to provide the lower branches and bud sites with light these wattage figures are the actual watts not the equivalent. I quickly went away from CFL's though, I still use them with t5's for mothers and veg but HPS all the way for flower.

Ok Ok sounds good. Another guy on here recommended some T5's as well so I just may do that. Do you know a site thats pretty good on price? Ive been getting majority of my stuff from DCHydro.com. They have a 150 HPS with fixtures and ballast for 65+shipping. Sounds like a hell of a deal to me..what do u think?

So I believe I have encountered my 1st nute burn with the ladies. It isnt too bad so im sure a quick flush will do the trick. Quick question though.....How many of us actually go by the GH Nute chart that comes with the WaterFarm???? My very 1st batch of nute just consisted of 2.5 of all three...Was this too much? Also, When should you begin to add nutes....when 1st planted??? 1st week of veg??? If someone could assist me a lil on this I greatly appreciate it and of course...... +rep!!!! lol kiss-ass

Day 11


Had a lil nute burn a few days ago, so i flushed with some good PH water and today I started noticing the growth coming back. Still waiting on my HPS and PH Down to come in the mail. Hopefully nothing else goes wrong! [fingers crossed]

oh BTW my 1 smallest ladies died in a fatal CFL crash. Yea, my light fell off what it was clipped to onto it

11 days old. and I use filtered water that has sat in a open container over 24 hours. PH is at around 6

Trust me get a switchable MH/HPS ballast and use the Blue Halide Bulb for Veg and the Enhanced Blue HPS for Flower.
I would not buy under a 400 watt and an air cooled horizontal hood.
You can sit that baby 4 inches from the tops and watch them explode.
Your PH should be 5.5-5.8

Sounds good man but since this is my 1st grow and my experience with "plants" are very minimal i figured id just veg with some CFL's and flower is a 250 HPS. Once i get my experience up Ill def roll wit da big boyz and get the good lights. Do you use a waterfarm by chance?

How do I know how far to have the light? I've heard you adjust the height and all..but how often and how do you know when its at a good height?
