1st grow Afghani Kush,White Widow, Green Crack

The 1st pic was on on 8.9.09 and the 2nd was from this morn 8.11.09 You can certainly see obvious growth. Looks like they're accelerating now that I've dialed in their Nitrogen. The bottom right (WW) is looking less yellowish : ) Dunno quite how much accelerated growth to expect but they seem faster than the outdoor plants. Granted they do have 18 hours of light indoors. Glad I'm experiencing the non-stretchy growth: )

Today is veg day 24 of my indoor plants.....now that is from when I got them as clones and first started seeing growth. These plants have been moved a bit. Indoor then outdoor....outdoor then indoor. Been playing a bit of musical chairs trying to figure out how many plants I want in the tent, what strain..etc. Gonna stick with what I have in there now : )
If I am on day 24 of veg..when should I start thinking of flowering? I know there is a lot of flexibility here but for the most yield and quality, I'm imagining there is a sweet spot : )

Now that my plants really seem adjusted to the swap from Cfl's to the 600W MH bulb I've been thinking about optimal light distance. I've been lowering them and they are still far enough away that the heat they generate can barely be felt and that 's with a blower cooling the bulb and the fan blowing air across the light path. I was going to bring the light even closer but I've been reading about the ir radiation these things put out and am feeling cautious. Anyone out there using a 600w air-cooled hood with some light dist. experience? I've seen the hot spot diffusers and am interested in one of those possibly. I also want to upgrade my hood (already!) I noticed that mine only has reflective material on two surfaces instead on the four sides. I've been looking at the Sun System Magnum XXL 6 " and think it may just be perfect. It looks like it would fill every nook and cranny of my tent with light. The one that I have (Sun Systems Yieldmaster II) seems to do a great job as well but I'm all about the right tool for the right job. : )

Woke up this morning to notice the plant that I burnt last week going off! Looks like it'll be possibly the best yielding of the bunch.

I'm hoping the branches will continue to get more and more loaded until stems can't even be seen : )

My first harvest!!! Still drying. Using the burping method with glass Mason jars after some paper bag drying. This is from two plants that I decided to pull a little early because of the threat of gypsy moth budworms and mildew. Learned so much from this grow!!! Damn. Emotional ups and downs....financial downs, waiting for the up! I start working a shit load again in October and am worried about being around enough for my girls. Luckily my roommate with a medi-card gets home Monday from France. I'm looking forward to catching him up on what I've learned and learning more of what I haven't learned. Follow? : ) Going to try and get as organized as possible with the setup and feeding schedules and such. I just realized that I start working right at harvest! Damn. Well, it's the way it's supposed to be. Future planning on harvest date may be important for future consideration. Looking forward to sampling Ver. 1.0

Oh yeah...I have three more plants that I didn't harvest that are flowering too and actually I was just hunting for my mag glass cuz there are a ton of orange hairs and possible amber trics : ) Another harvest today? Thinking no but very soon. Where is that Mag? : )

I wish people would post their opinions or a smoke report on their strains after posting the grow. I can't find much on AK other than the breeders descriptions. I was wondering what kind of yield it gets outdoors and just how well it turned out.
