1st grow! 400watt CFL train wreck

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg I finally gave in and decided to start my first grow. I am doing it in a tent, I currently have one train wreck clone that I bought last night in a 2x2x4.5 space with 4 100w 5000k 1,600L CFLs on a 18/6 schedule. I just transplanted to a 3 gallon pot with a 75% Kellogg organic plus and 25% perlite mixture. I have Alaskan fish fertilizer and kelp green (cold processed seaweed and fish) for my vegging nutes I gave her these for the first time at 1/4 of what was instructed when I transplanted. Like I said this is my first grow and I only know what I've read online. I would love to hear any tips or advise anyone has for me. I will keep everyone updated on the progress. Thanks for looking at my grow! image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg image.jpeg

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Thank you both! I just tied down two of the bigger leaves that were blocking the newer growth. What do you think? Any advice is appreciated. Took a couple pictures of the pistils as well.

String looks mighty thin man, that will cut it in time. Get a role of soft garden wire tie or temporarily rather than tie it down, just hang something on it using a paper clip with a piece of gum or something on the other end.

Yeah the only thing I had was some fishing line so I made sure to keep the tension real light. I will pick up some garden wire today and redo it so I don't risk hurting her.

I haven't posted in a while but tomorrow is 5 weeks in veg and also the day it gets switched to 12/12. I have changed the setup a little bit in the past couple weeks, two weeks ago I put in two more 100w 5000k CFLs for some more side lighting and she exploded with new growth since then and has been loving every minute of it. And today I took out 2 of the 100w CFLs and replaced them with 2 150w 2700k CFLs.
Yesterday I decided to germinate 3 afghan skunk autos from Suzy seeds and today over 24 hours later two of them popped with little tap roots coming out so I planted them and put the other one back to germ longer. The seeds are in small pots watered with ph adjusted water prior to planting, and they are under 2 100w CFLs and 1 150w CFL and are in the small veg room until they are ready to go in with the train wreck on a 12/12 schedule. What do you guys think? Any advice or pointers are more than appreciated.

Oh and I also switched nutes yesterday, I am now using AN jungle juice 3 part nutes, fed the AN nutes for the first time last night ph'd at 6.0.

Well now it's actually 700w of CFLs 2 150w 2700k and 4 100w 5000k. And yes sometimes it takes a little while to get all the lights in the perfect place but I feel like it is better to have the lights placed all around rather than just directly above it that's why I didn't end up going with a T5.

I suppose. Think you might consider looking into COBs? Less complications, less wattage, more power.

I actually just started looking into the COBs, there is a lot of good things said about them. I bought a 300w full spectrum led ufo that should be here in about a week or so and I'm going to use that as my main light and the CFLs as side lighting in my flower room as soon as it gets here. But who knows, these CFLs might be old news after I do some more research on the COBs.

Those are some nice plants! How is the heat output from those lights? My flower room is 2x2x4.5 and inside of a closet, it has good ventilation but not enough to cool it down too much.

Heat is negligible. In a 2x2, you could probably get away using only one T1 from Tasty (85w of light/92 including fans and drivers), but you could also get the T2 just to make sure everything is rounded out. I use 3 T1s for a 4x2, but I could cover a 4.5x4.5.

Two days after potting one seed has popped through the soil! Can't wait for the other two to pop out.
Day 2 of veg for the train wreck. Leaves are starting to to get little crystals and all is looking good,
