Why do my clones look like this? Thier 9 days old and I cant ee any roots coming out of the oasis wedge. I dont see how thier going to make it at this point and just incase this happened I took 10 clones for the second attempt. So far, I addeed 6.4 water with a dose of root juice into the standing water tray. Its thier 4th day and theyre all lookin great.I want for this to continue so I'll updae this thread regularly. The water in my tray has been in there for 4 days so im going to empty it. Question is how do I care for them after that? Im growing 6 mothers 3 different strains for a sea of green style med grow and Im thinking I might just have to try a different method of rooting clones. first 2 are the sick ones and the last 2 are the new cuttings.

I guess your doing hydro? I use this "Stem-Rood No.2* by Plant products CO Ltd.

my clones look hella shitty, but they always root

I'm growing in soil though so.....

they are holding thier own
when the tips brown is when i know they have rooted

I read that cutting the fan leaves reduces the amount of photosynthesis so your clones can use moe energy for rooting rather than grow more leaves.

I dont cut th leaves. I cut all the way up to the top leaves. I leave them intact. I stick the clone in a dwc bubbler. I cut the stenm again underwater. I add a drop or 2 of superthrive as directed. I dip the stems then in superthrive and place no media or net pots just the clone in with the top 2 or three leaves left keeping it in the hole on the cloner. as the roots grow the clone eats the nutrients stored in those leaves. Roots grow fast. I have had 100 percetn success with this method! I am only a 10 cloner nub tho, 10 clones so far but all thrived

for a few clones to give u an idea i first used a coffee can. I poked holes in the lid about a half inch big. I dropped the clones in the holes. Inside the can was clean water 1 drop superthrive and an airstone with a 3 dollar aquarium airpump. This worked awesome, and i watched the roots grow. I keot a 15 watt cfkl about a foot away to remind the clones the were supposed to work. It was 24/0 for lights, no humid dome. They stayed warm like 80 degree room environment. mU can adapt this to use a rubbermaid easy, the clone pills out roots and all no problem , then i transfer to hydroton net pots and put in big dwc!

day 6. Clones still lookin pretty healthy. On day 4 I emptied the standing water tray and left the dome on and am just misting them here and there. Im not exactly sure when to take it off so I just figured a week in the humidity dome would be sufficient. Still not sure if Im doing the right thing.

I let all the oasis dry out and watered them. They were all droopy and I hope to wake up in the morning to some healthy plants. I think this is where you know if your clones are going to make it or not. I took the humidity dome off as well so tomorrow they will either look nice or they'll still be all wilted and leaf discoloration. And the plants look overall healthy besides the drooping.

2nd batch of clones still lookin good. !st batch are really yellowing up. Im guessing they have an N defficiency. Only 2 out of 9 are starting to show roots. So practically a 0% success rate. I thought cloning was easier, at least thats how it seemed when I did my reading up on it. Im currently purchasing an 8 hole daisy cloner so this shit will not happen again. Cant afford to make clones that dont root and turn yellow and dont grow.

a daisy cloner is more money then you need to spend. For much less you can make a working cloner.

2 out of 9 is over a 20% success rate. Some plants take to cloning better then others. My White widow is only like 20% and still well worth it I just kept a clone and made 2 moms, more cuttings dead, but more rooted too. I have 3 BB cheese moms bbc 1 & 2 clone at like 70% or so but BBC 3 is 100% every single cutting takes root. I don’t understand it, but that’s how it is. The cloner it the pics above has 30 sites. That would take 4 daisy cloners and over $200 to buy.

any way that's only my 2 cents good luck with your hobby what ever why you go.

Well like I said, Im not sure that the 2 that have a little root showing will even grow. The clones have a nute deffiency because they didnt grow roots. thats all that I can think of. Those 2 clones will more than likely be stunted.

Cuttings yellow because they are eating themselves, using the energy for root growth. The store bought cloner will work fine, but so will the homemade jobs you can find in the GrowFAQ. Either, way you go, will be better then what you have going on now.

easy, use GEL tek, or any Gel that u use to Dip then and just put the clones in the Jiffy(Chips) when putting the Chips in the water u need to mix it with Black(Micro) with Vita Max then leave it in the Chips in the dark for 12hrs and then put it towards the light, 26degrees(77f) spray every 12 hr on the chips, just slightly then ur good to go
