1st clone help please????

Hey I took a clone of a female plant thats been on 12/12 for a few days and i spotted a callx and pistil i took it from the bottom and i cut it then i stuck it in a cup of water and cut it again and accidentlly made it to short its only about a inch a stem below the dirt and only like a inch above dirt with leaves at the top of it it it possible that it will still work??should i discard it? i put some rooting poweder on the stem

also will taking clones from plants hurt your yield my plants are bushy and low stress trainging they were flowered at around 8-10 inches tall how many clones can i take without really hurting the donors yield ??just in case my clones are unsuccesful thanks.

well your main problem is your taking clones from a 12/12 plant, u want to take clones only from a vegging plant, that said it still could root out, try it any way, and the more u cut on a flower plant the more stress, and less yeild u will get, if u want more clones try to take them from the bottom because your leaving the main stems alone and less hamper on your yeild
