1K on Mover, how close?

I have a 6ft hydrofarm mover with a hortilux 1k in an exhausted hood. I have been running about 13 inches from the canopy but have recently been told that I could go as close as 8" with the mover since it will never sit in one place at that height. The hydrofarm movers move much slower than the light rails do and leaves me doubting that I could get that close without damage. How close is acceptable with the hydrofarm mover? Ambient air temp in the room is around 75F and usually reaches a max of 78 right before lights out. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

There really more to it.. are you running co2? Your temps sound good enough just watch and make sure it doesn't burn

I have the same setup as you.

I used to have my vertizontal reflector and 1k light skimming across the tops at about 12" away from the tops of my plants.

You will notice at that distance your plants will grow out fairly short.... Very nice plants, but too short.

Because of that,

I like to have my light up about 2-3 feet away so that I can get some heighth out of the girls.

After the stretching stops (one month into 12/12) I will drop my light way back down(12"-8") from the top of the plants with a fan blowing fresh air so that the tops dont get burned.

Yeah, I noticed they do stay stockier with the 1k compared to the 2 400's. Next time I will move the light up a bit. this time it has stayed right at about 13 the whole way and I'm just approaching end of wk4 of flower with the tallest plant being about 18". but on average they're about 13". Thanks for the input, I will be taking clones tomorrow or next and starting a grow journal that goes from cutting to harvest. that's some nice root growth in your avatar also! Thanks again.
