Seeds have a shelf life especially if not stored properly. But I would imagine after 50 years those seeds have 1. extended well past their shelf life 2. have gotten knocked around rolled around thrown around dropped knocked over kicked in their 50 years of life, And 3, Just simply not stored well.
But don't give up without trying them all you never know, one could still pop.

Try to take a clean razor and pry open on the side not to open the seed all the way just enough to allow water to get inside the seed. Then drop the seed in a cup of water to soak overnight. I’ve done this before with an old seed and she germed. But idk about 50 years old lol

Cannabis seeds have been found from Ancient Egypt and actually sprouted. Try what @smokelax5 said. Get creative.

That's amazing but not unimaginable. Things can be properly preserved and kept well past their expiration date But I highly doubt his hand-me-down seeds from the seventies were vacuum sealed and kept in a cool dry place undisturbed for 50 years. cannabis seeds do lose their germination rate slowly over time. But again not to say none of his will germinate. Just don't put a lot of capital into that stock. But I hope all works out well.

My God I would love to get my hands on some of them ancient Egypt seeds. Could you imagine? Even if the Bud wasn't that great, You would be smoking what they smoked thousands of years ago. King Tut bud! Or pharaohs Haze. .lol

Do as many large green house companies, store seeds in fridge, always a good way to keep them for many years...
You can get Sinai from the real seed company its a landrace and most likely what they smoked idk if its the same now vs then but maybe worth a bash if you wanna try something closeI will also add........

This is one of the methods biologists use when trying to germinate old seeds. You can google it. There are even companies that will sell you kits to really increase your chances of germinating very old seeds.

Try germinating the old seeds with URB natural microbes. Not promoting a company here but ever since I started using the URB seed soak my germination rate has increased to 100%. Can also help with old seeds
