Nice, ill def be following along.

Im back on the strip building bandwagon, currently sourcing parts for a 1440w build using f series and 480 drivers.

Perfect thread for me to follow along, hopefully ill understand half of it and learn something lol

How many strips per each build?

Once again I really appreciate this Whyte! Making the switch from HPS after all of these years was definitely intimidating but you have helped me to understand things better and I cannot wait to see this come together and then get in my tent. Now we need to talk about tent #2.....

Yeah buddy. Any time.

they are 70w / 4 ft strips powered at 30w ?

i have made smaller wattage ones with4 ft strips

cooling?
No 560mm strips pushed soft. The 1920w light can be upgraded at a later date. If he chooses. Up to 2880w. By adding two extra drivers. And they will still not be pushed at max. And the 1280w light can go up to 1920w if he chooses by doing the samething. Will be cooled by heatsinks.

WW a question if you dont mind

The f series gen 3 strips

Can i run 6 x 4` strips on a 480h driver comfortably? or is that pushing them too hard?

I plan to use Aluminum U channel for frame and heatsink.

Fuck yeah! I like how when my mind is thinking I'm gonna do another build this time with strips; someone here is doing it too! It gives me guidance, ideas, flat out badass designs that I may have never considered... Thx to all for sharing!

Double row? Or single. Single 4 footer is 50w. If they do double 4 footer, then it should be 100w

Where in the part number or description does say if it's a double or single?

Sorry still new to the led world.
You can pm me if we're clogging up this thread.

Your build looks good, the centre will be a hot spot, you could move a few strips from the centre to the outer sides to even it out a bit. The centre will be hotter the higher up you run the light from the canopy, if you intend on running the lights really close to the canopy then leave them as they are.

It depends on what 480h driver 24a or C series driver and which strips. Theres fb22b and fb24b the 22s are single rows and the 24s are double rows.

Hlg-480h-48a is 10 Amps max. 6 double row strips will be pushed at 1666mA they max at 3600mA they will be run at roughly 80w per strip at 1666mA. Typ on these is 2240mA. So you'll be below typ current and should run fairly cool.

Hlg-480h-48a with single row strips is the same current. 1666mA their max is 1800mA if your gonna push the single rows at 1666mA they should be ok on aluminum channel. But they will be pushed above typ. Typ is 1120mA on the single rows.
