18"X18" area with 150w SunLife HID system

My usual grows consist of 1000w HID and 5 large plants with huge yields, too much weed for me to use or give away with my three crops a year. I have always grown, so home is just not home without a project ongoing. I like seed in dirt with lots of light and attention to needs.

To satisfy my need to grow decided to do a single plant in dirt with hopefully enough light energy.

Started a single Reserva Prevada OG Kush seed in a party cup.

Transplanted into a 2.5 gallon container (ebb and flow type) 30 days from dry seed.

Vegged two weeks with CFLs

Did some topping...

Added the 150w SunSystem HID with HPS bulb.....

60 days later results are terrific.....

This light puts off very little heat that can't be easily managed with fans, allows very close positioning without heat issues, lots of light.

Installed 4 posts in container to allow clipping on 3 CFLs to move around easily.

Easy to tie plant back opening up the center for light penetration.

So I achieved my need to grow and I must admit rather surprised with the super hard dense buds.

It is amazing, that just a week ago today I was rummaging around in a dusty old cigar box of subjects (seeds) from all corners of the planet. I pick my subject and proclaim myself God over my subjects. I decide who will be selected, when they awake and sleep, what is consumed, the environment they live and when they die.... Ultimate control and power..... what a trip...

Along with comes responsibilities....

I believe in the miracle of life....
I now introduce my latest Subject 7days from dry seed.. (Cheese Candy)

A perfect creation of the universe.....

Two weeks she lives on the floor in a small corner in a bedroom, a floor poll lamp supports a clip on 100w CFL, makes it super easy to adjust light height keeping everything short and bushy. Wednesday she got her first big girl nutes with very positive results, small fan keeps the air fresh and moving around. As we progress leaving the seedling stage looking forward to an explosive growth week.

Day 21.... She outgrew her Party Cup space yesterday and transplanted into a 2.5 gallon container in a blend of dirt that I would swim in, wow it's blast off, Houston we have ignition.
I have experience growing this strain and she's performing just as anticipated, I find that when I anticipate great things, great things happen. This coming week she will at least double in size again maintaining her maximum uptake during this vegetative growth cycle. Will be adding the trellis and more lights in a day or so.... I am in control and she knows what I expect.....

update in a week....

She loves the new home....

Day 28... Installed the trellis and 3 more CFL lights last week allowing for a total "light bubble" surrounding the Cheese Candy.
The trellis is simply 4 one inch dowels inserted into the pot and reinforced with four bamboo supports with tie wraps. Very strong and sturdy can hang the clip on lights which adjust up and down 360 degrees allowing exact placement as desired and maintaining the 18"X18" grow area.

Looking forward to her first watering/nutes since transplant, which should happen later today along with whacking the top off.

The side lighting along with the watering, nutes and topping will shake things up real good, expect quite a show this coming week.

The big Coon Cat's name is TAZ and he keeps the peace.

Sub'd! sweet grow, and love the cat.
TAZ oh he's terrific....

Nice to have him as company in the grow room, he's always close by my side and like me, just doesn't get bored starring for hours at the grows.... why is that?

He is a very sweet cat, but can play very rough at times ...

Pic is from last week, fangs right to the gum line on the wrist.. and then attacked my leg....

Like a battered housewife....... I blame myself.....

Damn no shit. I had a cat who didn't know how to use her claws, and would get scratched up just by picking her up. The worse was when she got startled

Day 35,

Posting only once a week the visual progress of week 5 is a testament to the strain, she's perfect for this small space grow. Short, fat and bushy, tons of bud sites, great color and just a well bred great all around indoor athlete.

This coming week will force, fussing with the timers, changing the bulbs and adding the HID...

This is the time when coaxing and mothering turns into running along side, just to keep up..

Day 42,

Big environmental changes this week, CFL bulb change outs, big nutrient adjustment, light cycle change and the addition of the 150w HID system MH. bulb.

The HID light is an incredible addition, it lowers between the trellis stakes to within 6 to 8 inches, lighting up the center of the plant big time. The trellis supports the 4 CFLs (100w) and allows a 1 to 2 inch positioning for the side lighting, in addition the trellis allows for easy management of the rapid growth. Managing the four main tops (four posting) opens up the center of the plant and the light penetrates deep developing the interior. So along with the clip-on CFL positioning the plants structure is much improved, Am in total control of everything, no excuses ever, it's all up to me, stand back and watch this take place.

This light costs about $70.00 includes bulb and has an internal ballast, a great value... wow

This coming week The Cheese Candy looks forward to, "Bud Set", Growth Management, lots of focused light and mixtures of exotic fertilizers.

This is a very exciting time critical to the overall growth development moving forward..

Update in a week, get ready...... Houston we are now leaving "Earth Orbit".

looks good i got a quick question....
no pics right now, but i will get some.

i am set up with 9 X 8 ft room, 1000wtt lighting, I went in a few hours later (after trans platting) to see what was going on with the ladies and found that they were all flowering, holy shit I put up my 1000wtt light and set the timers. I am just a little tripped up because I have only ever grown regular plants. any suggestions, or anything anyone would like to say? please do. thanx
i guess really should I keep going? or scrap it and try again. these plants have been under 5 high out put grow lights(tube) about a total of 160 wtts. three light fixtures. seriously tho in about 2 - 4 hrs the plants were flowering after i transplanted. i found out today they are auto flower

Hey man, amazing setup and results. Your thread is helping me a lot, because I have a 11 day olds seedling now and I'm comparing it with yours, just to make sure everything is healthy and progressing. So far it's lagging a bit behind your one, looks light HPS lights are still worse when it comes to vegging than cfl's. :D

And you have a great cat! I also have a Maine Coon and boy does he have a temper. It's funny, I've also noticed that this breed of cat absolutely enjoys accompanying me in my "grow room"? My one does it all the time, I am never alone when I tend to my crops and he keeps drinking the water meant for my plants. Problem is that I can only touch him for max 30 seconds because then he acts all offended and starts biting me.

No one cares about your stupid cat. Now your comment about CFLS vs HPS, with maybe CFLS being better during VEGETARIANS?

QUESTION: I've got a 11.6 sq ft or 1 sq meter or 2'3" by 5'2" roughly 2 by 5 feet let's say, (lol I wish I could write that in twenty more different ways.)

How many plants should I grow and with what kind of lights? YALL ROCK THREAD HIJACK IT WOULD BE EXTREMELY PAINFUL YOURE A BIG GUY

FOR YOU

I'll have you know he thinks you're stupid as well. And the comment on cfl vs hps was a half joke mate (I'm using a hps for vegging not cfl), there are lots of factors to determine when it comes to comparing them.

Troll maybe?

I love your setup man. Kind of original. I use a 150 HPS too. Floralux from HG. $65 from eBay shipped. Love it for micro grows. I use some old LED Blurples I have for side light. Your grow gives me some ideas. I need to make some changes when I decide to grow again. Great job. Peace and love.
