I was wondering the same too and asked that last wek. Got a few responses saying that hen it its in the dark it uses the energy it has to better the roots and everything, and that it will stretch for light thus making it taller. Mines been under 24/0 for a little more then 3 weeks and its nice and bushy.

i've heard some people say that plants 'enjoy' a small rest period.

i've also heard that electrical consumption vs. productivity falls off after about 18 hours of light each day. but if electricity is no concern, i don't think it will really hurt anything 24/0.

I have to say, I feel like I got better growth after switching to 18/6. Now... this is only based on one grow I've done so I'm sure there are better people to speak on the subject. But that was what I noticed.

Ended up with 4/5 female too. Well.... atleast no sign of hermie yet... I dont know when that would show by so I pray its 4/5!!

What is missing here is the same with many subjects here and on any other forum.

Due to the US governments reefer mania drug war no university can perform any experimentation and let us know what the real deal is.

Truly scientific experimentation is costly, time consuming and difficult for the average Joe to perform.

Wouldn't it be sweet, to be able to site a university study on any subject cannabis.

Sorry about the rant.

:peace:

ya know... funny thing is... they say one of the reasons they cant legalize Marijuana is because there hasnt been enough studies on it, but truth is, Marijuana is the number 1 most studied plant in the world.

just wanted to mention the big thing i have found out with the 24/0 18/6 16/8
the closer you can get to the 16/8 cycle produces more females.. the more light 24/0 cycle produces more males.. i have always thought the plant like myself likes some rest at the end of the day.. plus having the lights off a bit can help with heat and the electric bill.. if you are growing fem seed i guess 24/0 would be fine... from people i have known, 18/6 seems the best.. small time for rest/regen and closest to nature.. actually closest to nature would probably be the 16/8. thats my take on the matter none the less.. hope it helped shed some light
