not attached, but if anyone doesnt have the need for odor control, this helps control the light heat very well

yes that is a deal for that 150w HPS.. i have one for my flowering Bubblelicious girl with 4 cfls as side lighting n she's growing like a weed..lol..
 
i have mine about 5 inches from canopy, very low heat, i was surprised...my cfl's put out way more heat, i was fighting of 100 degrees with them. 150 hps never gets over 85 even on the hottest days.
 
I have one of these it works very well.. just as.. if not better than the 90 watt LED i have with satalite CFL attachment from hidhit.com as well.... i go mine for $66 at local hydro shop!! best price i have ever seen on em and the the shipping well... that was about 2 dollars worth of gas money!.. But... from my time and research n e thing around $80 + shipping is normal..

Say what do you guys think of 2 of these paired together... mine runs 77 degrees constantly in basement. nothing special in the setup.. ??

I've been debating purchasing it. I'm also a CFL grower, just Veg'd under 125W (blue spec) CFL and flowering currently under a 125W (red spec)

I'm not happy with the penetrating power of it, top buds look awesome and the next node below it looks well also. But the lower shoots are just hairs. Even though it's not a MUCH higher wattage, its still 2-3 times the lumens and will definitely have better penetration power.

After hearing what was said here about the temps compared to CFL I am SOLD!

its great i have one there is no glass for a lenses but it has vent slots on top you can duct tape a fart fan on top and vent air
 
SO! Who has the scoop on bulbs for this hood? I heard the standard GE bulb it comes with is not the best. My internet hunting has only turned up other cheaper brands.

Hortilux or Sunmaster? Any of the big guys?

im really digging how most of yall say the heat really isnt a problem with this unit

just one question..do yall think, if my temp stays around 81 with 3 65w cfls and 10 26w cfls, will i be able to keep the temp about the same by using this light and maybe 3 or 4 of the small cfls for side lighting?

WoW GREAT THREAD! I am a CFL grower looking into HPS. And wondering about the same thing. My only concern is heat... I'm hearing heat isn't much of an issue though...
It would be in only a 10 cubic foot grow room. I have 10 26W CFL's in there now and a 450 CFM fan and my temp is 80. Would that HPS alone keep it around the same temp?? anybody know???
