I'm not sure what you are calling a 150 watt pack.

The answer is, no you cannot plug a MH bulb into an HPS setup.

The answer is, you can modify the HPS setup to be able to burn MH if you are handy with electric.

The other answer is that 150 watt MH bulbs aren't very plentiful, the standard bulbs are 175 watts, for this reason you would probably want to buy a 250 watt HPS setup, modify it and then run either HPS or MH bulbs. Or even move up to a 400 watt.

you can buy, 150hps spot lights that will take mh bulbs aswell.

the one i bought says that it does anyway, its a spotlight though not a growlight. still grows plants fine

Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium bulbs light differently so ordinarily you would not be able to swap and change.

However...You can buy MH bulbs that are designed to work with a HPS ballast (they have extra components built into them to enable it to light).

I have a 250W HPS Ballast and am currently running MH conversion bulb in it. The bulb i have is manufactured by Edison Lamps and is called the Metal Halide Dual Plus.
