14 1000W Air Cooled light set up

High,
Looking for advice on setting up multiple aircooled lights.
My room is 12 x 40 x 9ft ceiling cinder block.2x6 wood ceiling.
The plan is to hang 14 1000w Sunsystem A/C DE 8"in air cooled hoods.
Length ways in rows of 7.
I have two 48000 BTU mini splits for hvac
I was hoping to connect the lights in groups of 3 to 4 and cool by using10in centrifugal fans exhausting outside.
Where do I intake from?
Could I hook up 7 or 8 lights in a row and run a over sized centrifugal fan?
I do not have experience in a/c lights.
What are your thoughts?
How would you set it up?

I would run Gavitas, my concern is lack of ceiling height.

I was hoping to connect the lights in groups of 3 to 4 and cool by using10in centrifugal fans exhausting outside.

my first thought is thats not enough lights for that area for around 50w per sqft with hps, three rows of lights would be close to that.

Im just running two rows, walk area down the middle. I have 22 hoods. May put more in once I get it set up.

Im pretty sure no. You will have to check with manufacture. Ive heard the heat buildup through 3 hoods is massive then does nothing the rest of the way and causes huge problems and have even heard of lamp failure.

oh i dont see walk area down middle in your drawling, i was wondering how you were going to get around in there. I end up crawling around my room.

Lol it's just a mock up. Ft1.5 foot off wall 3ft from each other 3ft from either end and 3 ft walk way

Yup, I would only use two hoods in series and would try to connect the 7 pairs in parallel to the exaust fan. Could be difficult to get the same airflow thru all the hoods as each curve and more distance would increases resistance in different ways. But it should be possible even for the farthest hood to draw enough air to stay cool.

Also, Max of 3-4 hoods per fan. Be sure to PUSH your air through if you want a good deal on the setup, and make sure your pulling air if you're going to use an INline filter for smell right at the end.

A center tube along the two rows and and the hoods connected from the sides.
Something like this

Unless you live in death valley, you have enough air conditioning to do job without air cooling the hoods. Trying to air cool that many lights isnt very practical to begin with.

hey mongo was it u that grabed a couple of the qb 600s a while back to test?
Yes. Switched back to hps for this run. Rough run, super hot. Came out pretty good not great. Have an aids patient wanting some og, so have to switch back to hps because i know it so well. I will give LED's a try again latter on in life.

I believe what I have heard effective is not more than 4 hoods inline with 8" ducting.
I would put a very large plenum down the middle and tie the hot output side of a row of 4 into it.
Large fan at the exit side of the plenum leaving the grow area pulling the air out with a smaller fan on the intake of each set of 4 that pulls cool air from outside and pushes it through the hoods under pressure. That way no stinky's get drawn into your light cooling air steam and exit the facility.

It would be time consuming but if you go back a ways on Subcool's youtube videos he goes into detail about the ducting on his old 4 light system :peace:
