13 hrs dark/ 11 hrs light

The only way to tell if there's any added benefit is if you have two perfectly identical plants, one of which will receive 12/12, the other getting 11/13...at harvest time, compare the two which were, up until flowering time, perfectly identical, and see how they are different. How would you expect to know if 11/13 is better or worse if you don't already know what 12/12 will get you?

As far as benifits go I was just thinking if I could see any acceleration in ripening (pistil browning and trichs turing). Not really trying to be scientific.

My question is...how can you tell if it's "accelerated ripening" or just "regular ripening" if you don't know what "regular ripening" is for this strain?

Point taken. I watch the plants everyday if I notice a rapid increase in ripening that could be a positive. I do understand your point though it could be just its regular life cycle. I guess I'll truly never know. I just hope it works!! I am tired on waiting for this shit to finish!!! :wall:

I'm just trying to simulate natural conditions as much as possible. I went ahead and gave mine that extra 15 minutes of dark starting last night.

So you bottom out at 11on/13off, THEN you start INCREASING the minutes in reverse order. This, IMO, would trigger the plant to hurry. Why? Because the plant (in nature) would put all it's resources into finishing before the next growing season, which the increased light would suggest is eminent.
One might also control the temps, the lowest being on day X (during dark) when only 11 hrs. of light are allowed, increasing in step w/advanced light exposure.
Just a thought.

Th days don't start getting longer until dec 21 at the winter solstice. I would be afraid that making the days longer again would stress the plant out.

I'm just trying to have mine finish at 13 dark because that is how it would be in nature.

You'd need to think equatorial, as if your grow were closer to the center, if you're indoors. I'm guessing most of these strains would be finished by the time 12/12 has naturally occurred. Going 11 lit would likely result in slowed growth, because in nature almost all annuals, like pot is, would be dead by then. Adding moments would emulate being in a milder climate, and it's my contention that this alone (adding rather than subtracting) could accelerate the plants need to hurry and finish, so it can do it again?

for some reason that 6 hours on 6 hours off sound like it is worth a try to me........ i dont have a sealed grow room so i cant try it , light gets in during the day..... but i recon that if you start the plant from seed with the 6/6 it wont stress the plant. i wonder how fast will it mature or if it will flower at all ....
