Has anyone else done this before. I am doing 13 light, 11 dark. I have been flowering for 3 weeks and already have some foot long colas. If you are looking for a good experiment give it a shot.

Stop trying to reinvent the wheel!!

J/K... Nothing that I've ever heard of. I would expect though, that with all of the research, literature and whatnot you would be able to find something regarding this and/or why a 12/12 schedule is more suitable for the plants we all hold so dearly.

I could be wrong but i don't think an extra hour is going to make a huge difference. Regardless lets see the pics of the 3 week old foot colas.:hump:

I will post a pic tonight.

The strain is of some shit going around here in Texas called popcorn. It is really good kind of a woody taste. My buddy grew some last year outside and it was really good. The problem with getting it from a dealer is that it has been vacuum sealed and not handled in a very respectful manner. So by the time I get some all the trichomes are already knocked off of it.

Yes I started out like this. They have been in 13/11 the whole time.

Cannabis is dioecious, which means among other things that it requires 12/12 to flower properly.
If hes really lucky he will have small buds,if hes a bit lucky he will have a hermie and if hes unlucky he will have a plant that just never develops properly, all depends on what strain hes growing as some strains auto flower anyway:blsmoke:

That's assuming that the plants have an internal clock set to exactly 24 hours. It seems natural to assume, but I know for a fact that many animals in controlled environments trend towards longer or shorter days. Studies have shown that human's internal clocks are geared much more naturally for 26-30 hour days.

I still wouldn't try it with my plants, but I'm interested to see how this turns out. In a completely light tight environment, 13 on 12 off might be interesting as well.

i always thought it was more important during flowering for the plant to get the 12 hours of darkness rather than the 12 hours of light...we need some clarification!

I read somewhere on the internet about someone putting plants on a flowering schedule where they had 5-12 hour dark cycles a week. He had his lights set to where he would have the light on for over 21 hours, and then go 12 hours of darkness. I thought it sounded a little bit crazy, but he said his buds swelled up a lot with the extra light, and had an insatiable appetite for nutes. I am sorry that I can't give the source, and this is definately unconfirmed second-hand knowledge, but could be worth looking into.

I have a friend that does use this in away. But he uses it how the sun would be in the summer to the fall. He starts out in 18-6 for 3 days 16-8 for 2 days 14-10 2 days 13-11 for 2 days then 12-12 . And i must say that i have never done this but i have seen a couple yeilds and its always been great . So i say go nuts if its working for great !!!! ps. He also starts with mh bulbs and midway he has 1 mh and 1 hps bulb then in the end ( 12-12 ) he uses 2 hps bulbs, alot of switching of the bulbs if you ask me but like i said it seems to work good for him.
