How high should these cfl be from the plants I have them at 10", I know the heat isn't comparable to a150 hps, but should I treat it the same about a foot from the tops?

i don't have an educated answer for ya. But from my experience, you can have it within inches. I currently have one sitting at the bottom of my flowering room shinning on the popcorn buds. They get within 5-6 inches of the light and don't burn. One branch did burn, but it was practically kissing the light. Drop it down and keep an eye on it. You'll see stress long before any real damage will be done so you can raise it.

As was already said, but to add to it, as long as you have proper ventilation you can have the bulb practically touching the plants. A proper test is to put your hand near it. If you can feel the heat it's too close. I would say that 12" is much too far, it needs to be closer, like 2-3".

Well with it at 8 I feel little to no heat. I don't havre any stretching and ghats what it was usually staying at but today I raised to 10, I see no heat loss on my temp meter stayed at 82F, I have a 2x4x7 tent with a 435 exhaust, with passive intake and a good 200+ cfm with 2 fans to circulate inside tent. I haven't caused any damage to my plants just wanted a rule of thumb to go off of.

You can use theses lights a lot closer, As they get no where nears as hot, As hps/ mh, and a lot cheaper to! Ive used these before and littrally had the about the lights about 2" above the plants, Make sure you have a fan. Also stops stretchigh as well. Had some good bud using cfls. When you start to flower, 12on/12off, add a 2700k red spectrum to the mix as well . Goog growing! Hope this helps.
