125 watt red spectrum light question

hi peeps just wanted to know whats the most furthest lenght of a light of this kind to be away from the top of the plantive just plugged in a 125 watt red spectrum light and its basically 8 inches away from the tops of my plants.due to a quickly built growbox ive had problems of actually makin the light stay straight sideways so ive fixed a bracket to the inside corner so the bulbs diagonal layin across....all help will be appreciated ....

OK so its gettin very hot here and its about 43 degrees at top of box but 28 degrees at the bottom so ive added another pc fan thats now hopefully coolin it down a bit but still weiry that my light is too far away from the plant but yet the heat is enough for the plants so i dont think im having much of a problem but help would be appreciated...

place your hand a distance away from bulb and move it closer to bulb till it feels hot on your hand

if id known these bulbs get that hot i wouldnt of touched it lol the bulb is now fixed so cant move to adjust to top of plants will have to move plants to bulb instead which is now going to be a pain cos i have other side lights stoppin me from raising them lol they look fine as they are and even seen new growth in the past few hours cos i keep lookin in the cupboard lol im glad i got through the 12 hours with my new light instead of burnin down my house...im sure the woodchip will keep warm through the night so i have my own heating device for nighttimes...heated woodchip lol

first priority is to not stress these out so hopefully its not too hot in there and theyll grow well...u can see by my profile picture that i found a girl few days ago but only got 2 plants so thinkin about doubling up by clones yet but may just flower this plant to its fullness see how much i get out of it

the box hasnt burned up or set alight yet and there is the 125 watt light along with about 4 other lights so im sure this is ok for 12 hours a day

hey i run 1600 w of hids and no fires and used to also run a 15 bulb total 350 something watts cfl hood that was homemade and no fires

seems im safe then. i added a tube that attaches to one of the fans so it blows air upwards and into the middle between my plants so that should circulate the air around the box nicely...thanx for your help shuffle.........:O)

if its a cfl light move it about 3 to 4 inches away from the plants with fan blowing over n between the leaves, iv grown under a 45w cfl b4

im using a 125 watt red spectrum light along with 2 of the underneath kitchen cupboards cfl.s and 2 energy saving cfl.s blooming quite nicely even if i say so myself...
