I have a simialr question I have a 26Watt CFL but it says for everyday use and on the package it compared it to a regular lightbulb. Is this CFL like any normal one or is it bad?

Get as many of thoose cfl's as you can in there. A 26w is a normal bulb. But you are going to need a shit load of em to go from seed to flower. 2 150w cfl's is not going to be enough get at least 4 of them. The gerneral rule of thumb is 50 watts per square foot 2 will only be enough for a 2'x3' area and that is still pushing it!

i've had my plant since about july and i was wondering could lack of light be the reason why my plant hasn't fully flowered yet? I've been using 2 15-25w CFLs at 15off- 9 on cycles and my plant has about a gram on it,

I had a simular problem. I purchased a 250 watt HPS light and after running that on a 12/12 cycle the plant is a totally different plant. Buying the right lighting system will make a huge difference for you.

You dont have to but you would get bigger buds since they like the red spectrum during flowering. But in the end it is all up to you. If you got more light it would make a huge differnce.

i have a 2 1/2 ft x 4 ft x 6 ft tall space a made a light bar that holds 8 sockets. with a splitter in each. 16 bulbs total im running 23 watt soft and 15 watt daylight im vegging some seedlings and just popped in 6 clones i use 2/1 daylight to soft for veg and reverse to flower. currently i only have 9 bulbs running until i get exhuast fan as this amount keeps room at about 72 - 74 degrees.

alright, thanks guys
Hey dude, sorry I just want to make sure what I am reading is correct. You have 2-125watt cfls, the ones with the mogul base?? If you do then the advice you are getting is inaccurate. If the are replacements for a 125watts of normal incandescent's it might be good advice. MOst of us haven't used those, I know some folks that have and they say the work great for a few plants. Remember SeeMore used 8-42 watt cfl's to grow 8oz from three females.
I am amazed, this thread has over four thousand views. looks like all of the hid fans are checking to see what's going on. Or maybe they just want to look at that ass. lolVV

Whitey111,
I got a similar set up, and aside of the limitation of space that only allows for a couple of smallish plants my beauties are thriving. For the area you are using it is plenty of light. One thing you need to bear in mind though with small tents is air circulation, heat buildup and giving them a bit of a breeze to strengthen their stem so they dont fall over with your rock heavy buds!!
good luck with your grow mate!

Stelthy,
I am 33 days into a similar grow. I have a self made tent aprox. 1ft by 2ft, but quite taller. I cant quite workout for sure how much headroom you have but bear in mind that 12" to 16" is expected. Will you need an extra foot from the tip of the plant to the light source in a CFL. I have a 125 flowering on my lowriders and the are going fantastic. Are you getting air circulation? or is the top open? Its important.
At the moment you could be being a bit mean on the amount of light, but your plants will come up nonetheless. Only smaller than if you use more W's.

Good luck!!

Does anyone know the actual initial photopic lumens produced by the Hydrofarm 125W CFL's??
This is the bulb i'm talking about:
http://www.hydrofarm.com/pb_detail.php?itemid=115

I find it really hard to believe that Hydrofarm, of all companies, wouldn't put any CRI info or any information on initial lumen output on their website.

I'm wondering if anyone around here would happen to own one of these bulbs and a light meter.....kiss-ass

Maybe take some foot candle measurements from each increasing increment of distance....

example: 6" from light= x foot candles
8" from light= x foot candles
10" from light= x foot candles
and so forth.

Maybe even not only taken from directly under the light, maybe take some measurements from the corners of the room/canopy at certain distance from light, ect.

That probably sounds like a demanding request, but hey, if you have the tools, why not?

That would be awesome. kiss-ass

Hey guy's I got a HELPFUL hint.I dont care if you get 50 100 watt cfl's you still have 1750 lumens just 50 times.I dont know how many times I got to say this.Lumens DO NOT COMPOUND!They do not add up like you would think. If want a really successful CFL grow you must get HIGH PERFORMANCE CFL'S (5U BULBS).They give out 8,500 to 10,000 lumens without a lot of heat. They are about 40 bucks from your local growshop.FELIX is the brand you want.Dont settle for the cheaper ones! The Felix bulbs are tested and passed when others have failed due to high humidity and they last longer.Sorry if I came off like a dick but its not that hard to figure out.More LUMENS more smoke!HPS is the top light cause it throws about 30,000 to 40,000 lumens but I dont like em because they get way to hot.TRY THESE BULBS AND GO AT LEAST 125watts and you be very happy.Good luck!
