1210w LED/HPS combo : Dream Star and Purple Dawg

I'm excited about this round. This is the most wattage I've run so far, and the weather should be cooling off so I'm not too worried about heat.

This round I'm only running 2 strains, 9x Dream Star and 12x Purple Dawg. Both strains are from Oaksterdam Nursery. ( http://www.fhwcc.org/menu/catalog.pdf )

Here's the set-up so far, just put them in pots and put them under 18/6 today. I also included a pic of my nutrients. Yes, I know they're pricey; but, I wanted pure quality this round, so I let myself dip into my pockets a little.

1210w total
4x90w UFO LEDS
1x450w LED panel
1x400w Super Red HPS

Watering #1 -
6 gallon water container
2 tsp Taranchula
2 tsp Pirhana
40ml Sensizyme
40ml Nirvana
50ml Voodoo Juice
40ml Bud Candy

Any updates? How are they doing?

Here are my clones on day 6 of 18/6 under 1210w. These first couple weeks are going to wreak havoc on my electric bill, but I want these ladies started off right!

I noticed a few white spots on the leaves and found some mites and eggs. After squishing everything I could visibly see, I immediately hit them with a Neem + warm water misting. I hit them with a second Neem mist last night (2 days later). Hopefully, that should take care of them.

I got a few free samples of ZHO and a free Sweet (Botanicare) from a friend of mine that works at a hydro shop, so I added them to my last couple waterings.

2nd watering:
6 gallons water
40 ml Sensi Grow A
40 ml Sensi Grow B
60 ml Sweet
30 ml Voodoo Juice
1 tsp Piranha
1 tsp Tarantula
20 ml Nirvana
20 ml Sensizyme

3rd Watering:
6 gallons water
4 tbsp. ZHO
30 ml Voodoo Juice

Almost at the 2 week vegging mark. This has been a busy week! I found a few more spider-mites on a couple plants - the neem oil didn't quite get them all. This time I took water+alcohol and sponged all the leaves, tomorrow I'm putting in a No-Pest strip.

Thankfully, none of this has harmed the plants at all; they look very healthy so far.

4th watering:
6 gallons water
60 ml Sensi Grow A
40 ml Sensi Grow B
40 ml Sweet
30 ml Voodoo Juice
20 ml Nirvana
40 ml Sensizyme


I topped all the plants on the 9th, I'm planning on flowering them in the next couple days. Tomorrow or the next day I'm going to give them 24h darkness then switch to 12/12.







5th watering - (last watering for veg)
6 gallons water
2 tsp Piranha
2 tsp Tarantula
4 tsp Table Sugar
60 ml Voodoo Juice
40 ml Sensizyme

This last watering is just to pump the soil with living organisms. I'm going to use Bud Blood on the next watering (which will likely kill most of the micro-organisms), so I wanted to pamper the roots a little extra. I'll re-populate the micro-organisms after the Bud Blood watering(s).

After 14 days under 18/6, the plants are now in their 24h of darkness as of a couple hours ago. Tomorrow they begin day 1 under 12/12.

Here is how they look so far! The stalk on a few of them is unreal-thick for their size.
The little guy by the lighter is only about 8" tall, but the stalk is about the size of my little finger.


1st Flower Watering
6 Gallons water
2 tsp Bud Blood
10ml Connoisseur A
10ml Connoisseur B

The bugs in my room are finally under control. I think the soil I'm using has a lot of stow-aways. I recently hit the plants with Organicide (which smells TERRIBLE!) to help control the mites, but it had no effect on the fungus gnats! So, I hit the whole room with a 'Raid' brand Fogger. Since there are no bud site, I figure it's pretty safe and a good idea to get everything under control early. I wouldn't want to use a fogger if they were already flowering.

However, I think the fogger probably killed all my mycorrhizae, beneficial fungus, and enzymes in the soil. I'm watering them tonight with a small 1.5 gallon jug of water with Voodoo Juice, Tarantula, Piranha, Sensizyme, and bud candy. Hopefully they can repopulate a little.

Updates - Day 4 of flowering. Flies seem to be under control and no sign of a mite return (yet). So far, so good

Going to hit them with the same watering as last time; a little Bud Blood and a dash of Connoisseur A/B, maybe a little Nirvana and Mother Earth organic tea to keep the soil rich. The Bud Blood will probably be at 2/3 strength this time, I don't like more than a couple uses since the numbers are so high.

I'm going to be changing the bulb in the 400w soon; this is it's 4th-5th harvest. The lumens are starting to fade.

Hey bro... Just here to show some love... I too got my Purp Dawg from a bay area smoke shop (cafe blue sky), and was a little skeptical because I had never herd of the strain and could find little to no info on it... Anyhow long story short, these plants are beasts... I'm currently 1 week into flowering in a aero set-up, and they are growing crazy after being topped, I mean crazy... Not to mention I have them scrog'ed so I have new tops popping up all over... Thick stems and plentiful root system after 3 weeks of veg under 2 shop lights (fluros).... I also have a couple in 5 gall buckets and are about 4 weeks into flowering... I did pretty bad as far as soil, due to lack of experience but they still have pretty good size flowers.... Can't wait to see what happens with yours... Keep it up man!!

It's been 10 days since the 24h darkness + the 12/12 light switch. So far, they are looking pretty great.

The Bud Blood really got them to shoot hairs fast! They are already pushing out little bud sites.

Here is the standard watering that they'll be getting for the next few weeks.

Flower watering:
6 Gallons water
20mL Connoisseur A
20mL Connoisseur B
20mL Kushie Kush
60mL Mother Earth Bloom Tea
40mL Nirvana
40mL Bud Candy

20mL Sensizyme*
30mL Voodoo Juice*
1/4 tsp Piranha*
1/4 tsp Tarantula*

*Ingredient is living and was added after letting the reservoir sit for 20-30min to allow all nutrients to dilute, to prevent killing the live micro/fungi/bacteria/enzymes.
