12" till the top hits the glass on my hood. I'm only in day 12 of flower. I used humboldts BushMaster. Is that enough? or is this thing going to mash right into it? Plant is LA Women Dom. Indica

It is probably not done stretching yet. Mine seem to stretch for about 3 weeks. You may want to look into LST or super cropping.

damn thats what I was thinking. Well what kinda of LST would be effective at this point in time? I know I can tie down the arms but what to do with the top?

You can tie down the main cola and you will be fine. I drill a small hole at the top of the container. Then I tie a loop at the end of the string and lasoo around the main stalk about 6" below the bottom of the main cola. Tie the other end of the string to the hole you drilled in the top of the container. If it is well along you will want to bend it down gradually, a little bit every day until the main cola is horizontal (parallel to the floor) so it does not snap. This should get you out of immediate trouble. Adjust the LST as needed. I know it is a leap of faith but it works wonders.

You can use Phosphoload, it's alot like Brushmaster which should have worked. Be careful with this stuff only 1ml/gal got more! You will fry your plants. If in hydro use for 1 week only, if in soil one feeding this should stop them now! Plus the added bud sites are a plus.I use this on my Sativa's when they start to strecht, it stops them evrytime.

ya i would say get on the LST deal soon, but if your stalk is as big as mine was 12 days into flowering then you may be SOL on LST. You can def crop it at the top but i'd do that in vegg i dont know how it would effect your yeild in the end.

Bend the stems down. Don't SNAP them but squeeze the stem about 20 times where you want to bend it, and then just lightly bend it over. Easy. Check out my gallery for a bent stem that healed itself. It was the main stem of this bagseed sativa that was growing faster than the others.

Yes you can. But you have to soften it up a good amount and gently bend it down. You can do it to your whole crop and make it to where there is more light penetrating the center of the canopy. Trust me the cannabis plant is quite versatile. I think there is a super cropping tutorial in the advanced marijuana cultivation section here. check that out.

I'm talking about either really. You can bend the top, just to keep the light from burning it for sure. Or you can do the whole thing and get a big ol' bitch.

right on man, well I'll be on that tomorrow then. I think I'll just lay over the top and go that way with it. She has been stressed a lot during the trans to bud and im 13 days in so gotta do something soon. Thanks for the info and help man. rep

I have found the best thing to use to tie down is cotton twine or string as this doesn't seem to cut into the stalk like nylon can.

alright well this thing is a monster. So I don't know that I can tie the whole thing over the stock is thick as hell. Can I bend the top over and just have a right angle top bud lol?

Pic of the plant.....
YES! I love supercropping and use it exclusively to prevent my flowering plants from hitting the reflector glass. I go down 3,4,5+ nodes and bend the stem at a 90 degree right angle. You can "crush the herd" as I've heard it called where you squeeze the stem at the point you wish to bend, then rotate 180 degrees around the stem and crush again. This makes it easier for the stem to bend and not snap. Don't worry if you get a little snapping though...they will almost always recover.

LST is another good option, but not for that monster. Just bend over the taller colas and try to get an even canopy. After about 24 hours the tops re-orient themselves and begin growing up towards the light again. Sometimes the plant can attempt to correct the supercropping if you didn't do it enough, so you may have to give another gentle bend to the same spot to encourage the plant to stay horizontal a little more.

Good luck! :leaf:

HAHAHA dude that thing is a monster! How long did you Veg, a year? Youre going to have to wait for each cola to pop up then LST, I wouldnt try to bend that huge stem. Take each baby arm that pops out of that beast and tie each one down individually. That thing is going to look like Medusa's head by the end of its run. Your yeild should be pretty significant though... I have to give you props for being ambitious.
