12/12 Test Mini-Journal : Ice (Fem) & Jock Horror (Reg) ENJOY!

High all,

Since I have small spaces to grow, I started thinking about growing plants other than autos (much larger varieties) but the only way for me would be to grow them in 12/12 from seed and to use small containers in order to keep them short.

So I decided to experiment it myself since nobody on RIU seem to give a clear opinion on the 12/12 subject. Since the JH is an auto, it will also let us know how an auto plant can grow with less than 18 hours of light.

This was made in Summer 2012, I haven't grown many plants since the end of 2011 because of my job (more investments for more strains at least).

- I started the seeds in coco peats and transplanted them twice.
- Left them on 24/0 with a 45w CFL light for the first 3 weeks.
- Changed the light to a 150w CFL.
- On week 3, repotted them in a 8 Liter low container and switch the light to 15/9.

The reason why I left them on 24/0 for the first 3 weeks was to make them grow fast without knowing the dark period. After 3 weeks, I switched to 15_light/9_dark thinking that they would flower anyway since they will live through the dark period for their first time.
It worked!

STRAINS :

- Jock Horror (2) Reg : Given to me from my homie (his plant was pollinated). I've grown it before but didn't really like it.
Jock Horror Autoflowering is a three-way marijuana hybrid of Northern Light, Skunk and Haze. Jock produces so much resin that even its branches glisten with THC glands. This marijuana variety has a unique fresh flavour and packs a strong "up" buzz.

- Ice (1) Fem : I got it for free about a year ago.
Ice seeds have ancestors of four of the most famous old good marijuana strains: Afghani, Skunk, Northern Lights and Shiva. Ice is a winner of the 1998 Cannabis Cup.

I will make it a fast weekly journal so you can enjoy it without spending hours looking at your screen.
ENJOY!
:peace:

I translplanted them in small pots (made out of bottles) and changed the light to 150w CFL.
By the end of this week, one of the Jock appeared to be a male, had to execute it.

Now that I know that the last two are females I transplanted them into a larger low container.
The mix is made of dirt, horse manure and clay pebbles (all together).

Left / Up ------> Jock Horror
Right / Down --> Ice

The plants are both nice, growing well even though I couldn't watch them often.
They are still getting 15 hours of light and turned out well for their flowering period.

The little dark one is the Jock Horror.
The long light one is the Ice.

This is the harvest week for the Jock Horror. She is beautiful, much better than the ones I had grown before. AND She stayed short (about 9 inches).
I'll let it dry for 5 days as usual, leave the buds in a brown paper bag for 3-4 days and straight to the jar.

The ice will finish by itself, not ready yet since the buds are still growing. I'll move the light where the Jock Horror used to grow so the Ice will receive more light.

And this is the last week, everything went fast, the Ice is really NICE & FROSTY with a lot of TRICHOMES.
She was at 16 inches at the time of harvest.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED FOR BOTH PLANTS IN SIZE.
I now know that I can grow photo-period plants with the same setup (hopefully this year).

I forgot to post the final products... I kept small nugs so I'll post the pics later.

Hope you like this fast-reading bud journal! :bigjoint:
