12/12 outdoor question

I live in a country where it's almost 12/12 all year round. this plant is outdoor

so I have a bagseed (GSC i think) that was started then it pre-flowered.

my questions are:

1.) what would signal a plant to pre-flower when it started from 12/12 in the first place

2.) when it pre-flowers, does that mean that's the start of flowering?

3.) if not, how long will it start to flower after showing pre-flowers at 12/12?

A plant thats always 12/12 will start to flower when it hits maturity. It just cant help it, its in its genetics to do so. Now it does appear your plant started to flower and I am guessing you did not want it too yet. So that leaves you 2 options at this point. Option one let it finish out flowering(easiest option at this point). Option two bring it inside at night and put it under lights for another 6-8 hours and It will go back into veg mode. It doesn't look too far along so bringing it in and putting it under lights wont be too much of a problem growth wise. Then when it hits the size you want put it back outside and it will start to flower again. You could also put a light outside on a timer if you don't want to bring it in every night. Thats what a lot of us California outdoor growers do early and late in the season to control when it flowers. A cool timer is a light sensitive timer that turns on for 2-4-6-8 hours a night. They use them for Christmas lights typically but they sure are nice for outdoor lights. If you have any more questions feel free to PM me. Have a good one.

okay. thank you very much! sad to say, anything electric with my grow is out of my reach as of now. we're only doing outdoor because of electrical issues.

I was also wondering if being rootbound could cause a plant to pre-flower immediately? This girl was root bound in a very small pot for quite a while and got to transfer it pretty late already :|

It can in some cases. Not something I would worry about.

For your location situation.
I would be finding a way to get my hands on an equatorial Sativa like a Thai or a Vietnamese, maybe a Colombian "gold" or "red" or Jamaican Lambsbreath....some African's should work for you too......A pure "HAZE" may also....
These generally run LONG and are low feeders.....
They came from equatorial 12/12 regions and will work well were you are.
