I was wondering if during the flower period of 12/12 light does that have to be uninterrupted because i have my ??girls?? in a closet that has to be opened a couple times a night when they are "sleeping" will this affect their flowering period:peace:

not quite true. as long as the light is a GREEN light, it wont affect the circadian rhythm of the plants.

Also I topped my plants (before flowering) but they are still growing up.
They are growing out but stil looks like its trying to grow taller.
would it be okay to re do the top because it was shitty.
They havent even sexed yet?
Sorry for all the newb questions

don't do it unless you have too. you can always mount a camera system with a green light.

I was told that under no circumstances cut anything after you start flowering.

I tied this long drink of water down:

I was just going to chop it and smoke it but I was threatened with a sever tongue lashing if i did.

its ok to top prune and tie down the plants
during flowering

i would not trust the green light thing
and i will also tell you that it might just work , but i wouldn't trust it
the science behind it sounds real good
but i wouldent even do it if the worlds top growers did it ..theres no reason for it

every green bulb is not made the same
some are more green then others, some give of a blue/green color
there are other specturms that plants respond to that the human eye does not pick up that may be givin off by this green light. bottom line is i would not risk it
(this is just an example)
look at "black lights",, not all or the same, some of the high end ones give off more of the black light effect you want then the cheaper one, some you look right at the bulb and cant tell if its on, while othesr you can clearly see that they are on

(this is what you do)
the real issue you are having is self controll, the best fix for the longing to want to be in your grow room is to create
either 2 flowering chambers that run on oppisset timers so that your grow is allway on, so instead of 1 x 1000w flower room you could have 2 room of 600w or 400w, on 12/12 runing all day long.
or
you could have a flower and a vegg room
1-2 weeks after you place your clones into the flower room you can take clones and place them in your (lights on 24/7) veg room then you could always have some plant to muck around with + you will have nice sized vegged plants ready for the flower chamber when the tim is right. ..and if they get to big for the vegg room just keep pruning

after you harvest all your plants change the time on your timer so that when your at work, they are 'sleeping',
and when your off work, the light comes on. even if this is a set-back for you, it is better in the long run,
because you won't be disturbing them in the dark cycle. and you will see a difference between plants
distrubed during dark cycle, and plants not disturbed during dark cycle.

I no longer do it, b/c like that 5hit said i never need to or have a reason to do it anymore, but i can put my backing behind the green light and that in my experience Its always worked for me

i read in a article that interrupting during early stages for one hour could help get female plants??
trust no info from that article ever again
just like with everthing sex is determined at conception
when the male pollin touches the female flower
just like with human
when the male sperm touches the female egg

you just cant tell with plants they dont SHOW there sex untill they mature
there no way to influance sex
just like with humans
eat all the pasta you want , have sex standing up , doggy style. work out alot, sex before the period orafter, when its cold when its hot,,,, sex is determined when the sperm meets the eggs. bottom line

just like in humans the male plant's pollen has both cromazones XX|XY
there are xx pollen and xy pollen
if you use the pollen from a male to pollenate a female the resulting seeds can only grow to male or female
if you use the pollen form a hermi on an unrelated female the resulting seed can only grow to be hermi or female
if you pollenate a hermi with an unrelated male the resulting seed can only grow to be hermi, female or male
if you use the hermi pollen on it self or an unrelate hermi the resulting seed can only grow to be hermi
what i mean by unrelated is they are not clones of each other

Hello,

This is somewhat related. I am flowering 12/12 and need to switch the lights so they are on at night when it is cooler out. Will this hurt my plants? I intend to give them an extra cycle of dark, 24 hours and then turn them on tomorrow night. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

i have done this samething , and have had no problem
not to say you will not
nothting is 100%
but like you i had to chang the timeing because my workhad change and i like to be home while my lights are on ,,, you know just incase !!!
this one time flip shound not harm your crop + the way you are doing it is smart
most of the harm to plants come from constant light leaks

if you have to do it then do it
