12/12 From Start - How long until Harvest?

If I skip the 24/0 or 18/6 Veg cycles, and just start with 12/12 from sprout, how long approx. can I expect before harvest?

(I heard you could do this, but haven't a clue as to how or what precautions one has to take when doing so.)

Yes I realize this will cut yield down immeasurably, but:

- I really want to get my 1st harvy down before a long-lost friend comes to visit exactly 3 months from now, and

- If I can get budding and harvesting down, then surely I will get vegging down next time. But if I F up the budding/harvesting/curing phases, I will have wasted 1-2 months vegging for nothing.

So any ideas??

Veg for at least 10 days homie. And then flower for 8 weeks, then dry 'em out for 10 days or so. They won't be cured properly and all that, but it will be less than 3 months. Find whatever seeds you can and get them germ'd asap.Skipping veg won't make flowering faster it will actually lengthen it a bit.

Thanks Dutch. That is kind of what I was reading here and on some other grow forums. 11 weeks from seed to smoke is not bad at all, I just hope I can get at least a 1/2 or more from each plant.

10 days? I'd say 2-3 Weeks if not more, to get that plant tall enough for more nodes, and growth. If he/she has a sufficient amount of space, he could get it a little taller, because flowering around at least 12-16'' Inches tall will be ideal for even a small yield. If you want bigger yield's you'll want to get it really tall.

I'd also like to mention that flowering times depend on the strain that is being grown, because some can take longer than 8 weeks...It also depends on exactly what type of high he is looking for.

Cynic, thanks for being Cynical, no seriously, you bring up a good point - some strains do take longer than others. I hope these (bag seed for now; saving my good ones for like grow #3 or 4 when I get all the kinks worked out) are on the shorter side. I hope. :)

And yes, you're right the longer the veg, the better the yield (more budding points will have developed by the time it shows its sex).

I plan to LST both plants, so hopefully that gets me the 16" yield but on a probably shorter plant due to the shortened veg process. I think I can actually veg for about 2.5 weeks total if I start tomorrow. :)

So for the first ~3 weeks should I do 24/0 or 18/6 from sprout?

Also, in order to maximize what little I can, I have some big bud nutes I will use, and I will start LST around week 3 probably, and continue up until I see buds actually forming - does that sound OK? Or should I keep LST'ing until Harvest??

TIA!

OK, great. Thanks.

Anyone else have any tips/tricks for growing like this, where it's 24/0 for 2 weeksish and then 12/12 the entire rest of the time, so very little veg, and slightly longer flowering cycle.

Any ideas/input is welcomed..

Thanks!
