12/12 from seed - northern lights, ata tundra

So just like the title says i will be growing 4 northern lights and 4 ata tundra plants 12/12 from seed. The seeds are from seedsman. I am going to be using pro mix BX, big bud ferts, and a 150w HPS. I started germinating the seeds tonight
Oh and I just want to mention to any new growers out there, NEVER USE CFL'S, they fuckin blow. I've done 2 grows with em and can say from experience that they are terrible.

Heres my seedlings, only 7 of the 8 seeds germinated, 4xNL and 3xAT. I got em under CFLs right now, but my hps will be here any day now and i figure seedlings will probly be better under cfls anyways. I think im gonna order some more seeds soon cause i want 6 females, how many females would you expect out of 7? just so i know how many seeds to order. and if anyone has any suggestions for a good strain for this method, i would appreciate your input.

Here's my plants now, I cant remember how long it's been, about 2 weeks I think. I've got them under the hps now too, im so glad to get rid of those stupid fuckin CFLs. I nuteburned them a little bit but i flushed quickly and so it wasn't bad. If you look closely theres a little bit of yellow on the leaf tips. I'm also waiting for some aurora indica seeds and I'm gonna throw those in there as well.

Lookin good grind, what soil you got those babies in and what nutes are you using?
I've been interested in these two Seedsman strains, so glad you've got a grow going with them.
I've seen some of their 'Northern Soul' grown on here and it looked great.

The soil is called sunshine mix 2 and i used 8-7-6 miracle grow fertilizer just once and they got burned so i think i'll just wait till they start showing sex to start on the bloom nutes, unless the plants go deficient before that, then i'll use more of the 8-7-6. For bloom nutes I got schultz 10-52-10 and advanced nutrients big bud as well as molasses.

They may have been a little young for nutes, good thing you didn't fry them completely.
You can always use a limited dosage.
How long you going to veg for?
Fuck 10-52-10, that shit's damn high in Phosphorus, have you used it before?
I would like to see a higher level of Potassium to equal that out.

yeah i got to the nuteburn quick so there's only a little tiny bit of yellowing on the tips of the younger leaves, barely even noticeable.
im not vegging, im doing 12/12 from seed cause i need buds as quick as possible, im runnin low.
i have the big bud to even it out, it's 0-15-40 or something like that.
Yeah i used the 10-52-10 on my last grow and never had a problem with burning.

i haven't seen many 12/12 from seed grows and have never seen any ata tundra grows so i dont really know what to expect here.

soo my leaves started turning yellow and drooping a few days ago, i thought they were becoming nitrogen deficient so i gave them some nutes, it helped a little bit but it was obvious there was still something wrong. so finally today i figure out that they're all rootbound, so i had to transplant and since I only had 4 pots, I had to improvise. check it outttt.

I'm doing a 12/12 from seed grow myself. Got my plants in 1liter paint buckets. Got some double strawberry diesel(2), ak47XNYCD(3), super skunk(2), bag seed(2), and kali-mist(3). I've just sprouted 5 super silver haze to toss in the mix as well.

They are all female except the ssh(just started). I also have one white widow that i vegged for a month or so. My plants took a long time to show sex. The ww showed its sex in a less than two weeks, the rest took awhile.

One thing I have learned from this style grow is your better off vegging them for a week or so before putting them on 12/12. It helps with stretching big time. IMO

Also, I fimmed/topped a couple of my plants to experiment. It worked nice. Most of my plants have one main stem. The ones I cut, 2 plants have two, one has 3. Try it, it should get you more colas. I did this during flowering with no prob's.

I've also been cutting off most the lower branches. I just want the colas, don't want the plant putting a lot of energy into growing side/popcorn buds, plus the side branches dont get much light anyway.

I'm not sure how I like this style of growing. May be easier from clone than see IMO. Still havent decided yet. This is all a learning experience for me.


I have 6 ata tundra seeds that I can't wait to grow. I also have two alaskan ice fem seeds that I want to cross the ata tundra with. I think thats going to be my next grow. Have too much seeds to make the choice easy though.

so this morning i go to check on my plants, and as im checking on them i notice that ALL 3 ata tundra are MALES! fuck this strain, out of 4 seeds,only 3 popped, out of those 3 only one looked normal, with the other 2 having some really fucked up looking leaves. im pissed. also ive been waiting on aurora indica seeds for like 3 fucking weeks and marijuana-seeds-canada stopped messaging back so im pretty sure they're trying to fuck me over. FUCKKK!!!!

Order through world wide marijuana seeds. They are usally here within about 7 days, sometimes 10. But always fast and always been reliable

Damn, that is a shame mate.
I was looking forward to seeing some of that strain grow, probably not as much as you though.
Are you going to grow the best one out and harvest some pollen for breeding?

nahh man, i dont think it was a very good strain, 2 of the 3 plants looked like mutants. i wanna get some aurora indica going now, i hear its an awesome strain.

soo only one of my NL plants have shown sex so far and its a female! it was funny tho because it was the only plant i thought would for sure be a male because it was so tall and lanky. Now i'm nervous it won't yield very much because of its tall/lankyness, what do you guys think?

forgot to post the pic lol. the female is the back right one. so yeah, do you think that i could pull off a decent yield from it? any input would be appreciated.

all my plants showed their sex about a week ago and i got 3 females :]. The only problem is that they stretched like motherfuckers and now they're very lanky looking with vitrtually no branching other than the fan leaves (which are quite small). can somebody please help me with this? i would like to get a decent yield (1/2-1 oz per plant) and by the looks of it, it ain't gonna happen. help!!!


Oh yeah, i guess i should mention that i haven't given any of the plants nutes in a while because i burned them the last time i did so maybe it's from lack of nutes?

Your plants are an example of their conditions.
12/12 from seed means they will start stretching straight away, which they have, a lot by the looks of it.
It's probably to late to top them to produce more branching so all I can suggest is some LST.
Tie them over to encourage vertical branch growth from each node.
This expose more growth points to the light.
Which ever way you tie them make sure you support the bottom of the stem in the opposite direction.
Do you have much LST experience?
