12/12 anyone?

hi friends,

i've been writing here about 5 years ago.
learned a lot from these forums and also had not bad results using a 12/12 lighting cycle.
unfortunately i don't remember which seed strains i've used.
so.. i figured i'd start by ordering some seeds
could you guys recommend some strains which grow well with a 12/12 cycle?
is 12/12 still considered a good method?

18/6 for veg, 12/12 for flowering, any strain. That's the norm.

If you are looking for 12/12 do not get autoflower. Auto flower will bloom on their own regardless the light. Other then that, you will need to decide what strain based on your needs and what you are able to grow in your space and set up.

Yeah man grow some Moby dick if you can let em get 7 feet tall although I did have some success with mine a few years ago keeping them 3 feet but if you only have 3 or 4 feet ro work with your beat bet is to get a clone from a friend or dispensary that wI'll stay short and fat for you. I know these are not the answers you're looking for but it's hard to do better with limited info

sorry for the confusion, i was asking about growing with 12/12 from seed. i had good results... checked my older postings - the strain that i grew was thc bomb from msnl.
it started flowering very early, the plant grew very short with a huge bulge in the middle.

a question regarding autoflowering strains, what is the lighting cycle i'd use for these 18/6, throughout the whole period?

I would not grow 12/12 from seed would be the short answer

lots of people grow 12/12 we have some great 12/12 grow journals the general consensus to most people they will say not to do it or its worthless
whatever you choose to do is up to you honestly, if youre doing a stealth micro grow than 12/12 is probably best for you.
if you have the space for bigger plants than you may not want to do 12/12
we have a specific subsection for people who do micro grows you may wanna go there and chat with likeminded individuals

I would reccomend nice sativa dominant or pure sativa for 12\12, they will actually veg for a few weeks while still in 12\12 and get bigger than say a pure indica that might veg for a couple weeks and go into flowering. It can also depend on the strain, I haven't done 12\12 btw so I could be wrong, just my opinion.

I'm doing 12/12 from seed right now n getting roughly 5/6 weeks vegging before 1st pistils show, i have had to lst a sativa-dom strain - also growing MKage ( THseeds ), which has been growing 12/12 and is just showing pistils now -both same age ! try getting something with a decent stretch ( sat-dom ).. Goodluck n

I have 2x 11 liters pots in each pot 4 plants that has been vegged from seeds for 2 weeks I believe or maybe alittle less then I flipped them

In each pot 2x bubblegum plus 2x blue dream

Its an experment mainly, I dont think that Ill do that again

Here is a pic am almost 2 weeks in flower..

I dont expect alot its just an experment that I wouldnt do again I believe

Bubblegum31, you could probably still transplant your plants, is there ANY pistils/balls showing yet.. Do you intend to Kp them 4 to a pot..? Should at least try swapping two in each pot, so that it's 4 of same strain in pot. They have a sativa-dom look about them n should stretch well, Goodluck and happy growing,

Thank you gaz, yes I intend on leaving them in those pots

I had them before in pre veg small pots and when I transplanted them they didnt had much of root ball.

Thats why I think those 11L is enough.

Am almost done with stretch so I dont think that they will stretch alot more ..

No pistils till now.and if I transplant now sure ill slow them abit..

Its just an experment I have more plants in normal pots...

They will probably stretch for another 2/4 weeks as pistils just showing now.. they'll continue stretching til budding proper.. just like pre-vegged plants will stretch after you see pistils.. Post an update on this post in a few weeks & let us know how they get on..!? Anyway happy growing,

I've started using 12/12 from seed to test out new strains faster than vegging them and then switching, especially long flowering sats. I clone em as well so if I like it, it'll be available to be grown again.

This is a Dr Grinspoon 12/12 from seed.

Joe B T, how old are those plants, n many weeks of flowering ahead..indoors etc.? Lookn fine.. keep us updated on how this plant gets on.. Happy growing,

The Dr Grinspoon is close to ten weeks from seed. It was a runt so it took longer to start flowering. Takes 100 days or so to flower and she's in week two. I'll keep you posted on her progress and final weight. She gets a tea tomorrow including a cannabis sst. @Gaz29
