40 plus years working in factories in electronics. I've worked on equipment that runs the gamut. I'll farm a bit and stay at home. I hope to start breeding some weed. I wish my children were going to be as fortunate but I expect not. Not many places left that pay $40 an hour with pension and benefits. We did have 20000 plus where I work now down to around 500. That was in the 90's. We are nothing but a place now for the kids of the old elite management to make a living. Mostly subcontract now.
Fair play bud, you've obvousily earned it giving 40+ years of hard work.
Although, being from the young generation I can God honestly say we actually can make that kind of money, but unfortunately I find more people worried about having wifi, perfect eyebrows & steroids.
They'd lost the "hard work"
I don't know if I should laugh or throw the tv out the window every time I see someone my age on tv demanding free college, free health, etc.
& people wonder why I keep myself to myself, work hard, farm hard & fish.
You'll need a dog if you haven't already got one. Personally I recommend a German shepherd.
I'm nowhere near the point of retiring, I've started a recycling company with a childhood friend, ive several wind turbines up & they're going through a meter & into the grid so it's an investment.
Ive had a small land scaping business for about a year now, getting by pretty darn well with that.
Hope to open a bar/restaurant in the next few years.
But unfortunately, brexit is playing a big "hold up" right now.
Being from Northern Ireland, we voted to remain part of the EU, but where dragged along with England.
I've actually been looking into becoming a funeral director, people are always going to die & there's always money in death.
Seems like a soild investment to me.
