10x12 flower room buildout

I have space to build a 10x12 grow room in basement ceilings are 7ft and some change I’m planning on running 2 chilled x6 lights I have been used to tents so doing a buildout want to make sure I get everything where it needs to be and also want to run co2 finally anybody here know a good design layout tips etc

Upgrading my electrical to 200amp will have sub panel in basement epoxy the floors I will build custom rolling tray or place pots as close to floor as possible want to have automated watering I usually hand water so want to try this way trying to decided on frp walls or dsp interlocking panels will use steel framing less organic material possible want to make this my permanent room will be here for several years don’t want to cut corners what it to be right!

Would like to also veg room and curing room have space for 8x8 veg prob same with cure room

should start with some photos of the basement i can give some input on where to start are the walls framed yet?

are you planning on installing a mini split and using co2?

Was thinking about it run led tho so idk trying to avoid that costly endeavor I have portable ac’s as well as wall ac’s

That I could implement

first off should frame all the exterior walls with 2x4’s get that loose wiring sorted out. should layout where all your plugs will go for fans, carbon filter, dehumidifier you will need to put more circuits in the room for sure. figure out where the condensate from your mini split and dehumidifier will go maby there is a sump pit in that basement? after you get that sorted i would insulate the walls framed and drywall. then install the minisplit a/c befor framing and drywalling the ceiling because you will need to a punch a whole through the rim joist for the a/c.

That’s what I was thinking have a drain I’m going to put a utility sink in corner have condensate drop into that and also have place to dump nutrients fill etc was going to do steel framing cheaper and thinking of dying Duramax and or dps panels because they already have insulation in them so just nail or screw in and done updating breaker to 200 amp running a sub panel epoxy the floors the. Will do like u said and figure exact layout where outlets and everything will go didn’t wanna just slap up panda or frp and call it good what it to be spotless clean

if your planning on doing metal stud make sure to buy plywood to screw between your studs for backing where you will mount equipment like your a/c since metal studs arent that great for mounting stuff. can i see these panels? im not familiar with the brand

im a big fan of epoxy resin i did white epoxy in my room

i looked at that duramax product on there website couple things if you dont put drywall behind the duramax i dont think you will get a very sealed room i think itll leak where all the sheets join personally. i wouldnt use this product i think this will be a bitch for you to install especially if you hafta box around anything. i think your better off using mold resistant drywall, maby a glasroc product or even cement board. i would paint everything with a flat white latex based paint but thats my personal opinion if you do indeed pull the trigger on duramax should post some pictures of the install id like to see.

What u think about the dps it has insulation in it

well i think the sheets are so thin the r-value from the sheets is very minimal you will still need to insulate your walls and ceiling regardless. the sheets will also provide next to no sound proofing.

here take a look at my grow journal i documented the room a built in my basement im still working on it slowly right now im building custom insulated doors with a rubber gasket at the moment i believe it starts on this page if you go back further theres my old grow and some photos of the minisplit a/c i put in and the panel with the flip box feel free to drop in and ask any questions about the photos

Do u have any suggestions on a mini split DIY that’s already pre charged just so I wouldn’t need to have a Hvac guy fill with Freon ?

i personally bought a mr cool 2 ton unit off of amazon and picked it up at a warehouse once it arrived in my city i cant speak for the quality of the unit vs non diy models i have seen more than once people complaining the units dont cool as well as non diy units. but i can say this mr.cool does have a warranty and the warranty is valid for diy units that are not installed by a licensed hvac professional ive only turned my unit on a couple times to make sure everything was good to go after i installed it. they are very easy to install i had no trouble whatsoever.
