i got a cfl at the store and a clip lamp for it and an adapter from a big base to standard base and its not turning on. Do you need ballasts for CFL???
If it is a true CFL then it has a ballast already built in. You might want to check out your fixture, and the light for very small cracks. If the socket works with other bulbs then I'd return your lamp.
