1000W hps/mh or 1000W hps and 400W mh??

The title says it all. I can buy a 1000W hps/mh light setup for 365 or i can buy a 1000W hps setup and a 400W MH setup for 325. Will a 400W MH be enough to veg like 10 plants?

If you have 2 rooms then get 2 lights. You could veg 10 under a 400. I do 9 under mine for 2.5 weeks in a hydro setup. They explode.

I'm only using one tent for now but i feel like vegging under 1000W mh might be a bit too much? and this way in the future maybe i wont have to go out and buy another light fixture for a second tent.

I don't know if it would be "Too Much" but your electric bill would rather see you use a 400 in veg. If you are worried about light penetration maybe look at a 600.

Only reason im looking at the 1000Whps and 400W MH option is because i found a good deal on CL. If im buying brand new im just gonna do a 1000W switchable.

The only time I would buy anything off of CL would be if it was exactly what I was looking for. Same hood, same ballast. I looked on CL for lights but I wanted Big Air Cooled hoods. I also don't like the idea of buying used electronics.

You have to be shrewd and really check stuff out but where i live CL is phenomenal for grow stuff most of it used for one cycle only. i dont no if they get their first electric bill and freak out or they just do one cycle and say to themselves "this isnt for me!" but its mostly a buyers market right now in the bay area and you cant swing a dead cat around without hittin a new hydro store... deals abound. Obviously you need to show some restraint with certain items like meters but these days its buyer beware in any kind of purchase.

i am also a 400MH and 1kHPS... X2 each yah... by the time ur shits done under the 1000, your veggers under the 400 will be prime. its a good veggie lamp.
