1000 watt sun leaves ballast questions

I bought a brand new 1000 watt ballast that is sun leaves for 80$ USD I want to use it with either a cooltube or air cooled hood. Does anyone us this ballast in there setup ? Oh and I got 150 to spend on a hood

I used this ballast during the summer between semesters. I used the HPS, and it was a hot one. i don't recommend using the hood i used (sun leaves) it was almost 2' by 1.5', with the shiny corrugated aluminum inside. it was made of steel and too bulk for how hot it would get, even with the glass. and there were no attachment sites for tubing, but rather holes with louvered covers that unbolted, so to buy another fitting to attach vent systems. i feel that for this price, it would be much more efficient to construct one's own. benefits being, a lower profile, better efficiency, and lower cost. easily done with galvanized venting at Lowe's, etc. and a piece of found glass, depending on your handyman skills.
