Since I'm getting good info on lights..would it be wise and ok to step up to 2 600 watt hps/mh or should I just go with the 400 and 600 watt!!! And would it even make a difference?

Do you rent or own? your meter, no problem (you are pushing the circuitry) your landlords meter. Your doomed
Hey Jim, I'll be renting and setting up a grow room soon, so I'd like to understand your thinking on this. Whether owning or renting (in my country), the occupant is billed directly for utilities (gas, electric, water) in their own name. Therefore, I don't see what difference it might make, unless you were thinking of a shared property where the tenant and landlord both lived. Sorry to be anal about it, but if there was some other angle you had in mind, I'd be interested to know what it was. Thanks.

I'm always a fan anytime a 600 is an option, best lumen to watt ratio. Plus I think for your situation, you'd end up with a more even crop with 2x600

I'd say so, if you know how much you pay per kilowatt hour, you can find out exactly what it will cost you per month. Do you know what you pay? It says on your bill. Say you pay 10 cents per kwh, that means for every thousand watts your running, it will cost you 10 cents per hour of use.

Is a 8 inch carbon fan too noisy, and do I need a 8 inch or could I use a 6 inch for a 8×4×8 tent with 10 plants? Just wanna make sure the noise is down and the smell

Most 8 inch fans consume about 200watts of power, 6 inch draws about 100ish. You're limited to 1400 watts with a 15 amp breaker. Two 600 watt bulbs is 1200watts, plus ballast losses puts them at about 1300-1350 actual draw. A 6 inch would be more than adequate, put it on a dimmer to reduce noise. Three 315w philips bulbs would draw about 1080 watts actual and offer better coverage.

Go to petco and get a small aquarium for your living room with a cheap air pump for an excuse for noise. Plus you can water your plants with the water for a psudo aquaponics setup.

Ok, il prolly do a 6 inch...it says it's 56 db..but I'm wondering if it's enough to pull the smell for 10 plants..and I'm gonna put one 600 watt light on one outlet with surge protector and il put the other one on a diff outlet in a diff room..

Just go led you won't have that issue. I'm sold on led and it's results. I just spent $300 on heat sinks for my new lights I'm making and gonna spend $1500 on the COB led modules. A lot cheaper than buying Area 51 or Advanced or all the over priced companies.

If you are billed directly, there will be no problem. Have fun

I'm planning a very similar sized setup (with 9 ladies) for later this year and for odour control and exhausting, I plan to have a 6 inch exhaust fan and high quality carbon filter, PLUS, in case I run into a seriously stinky strain or a peak in RH or temps and need additional control, I also plan to have a further fan and filter in reserve, which could either be added as a second exhaust or more likely used to "scrub" air inside the tent, meaning just the fan attached to the filter processing air already inside the tent without exhausting it. I have yet to decide whether I'll be better off with a 2nd 6 inch fan/filter or maybe just go for a 4 inch pairing to make scrubbing an easier option. Probably the latter and just hope my 6 inch doesn't break down or maybe even buy ANOTHER 6 inch as a backup. I'm looking at Phresh filters and Hyperfans with the built-in speed controllers (1 less thing to set up and they seem to get + reviews).

12/12 from seed using photos will out-yield most auto strains with a higher potency to boot..........and save $$$ on electricity.

Leds are unbeatable in w/ft for veg.......will cut down your amp load
