Lets say you can't afford a GOD DAMN LIGHT BULB.

You have a 600 watt hps, a 1000 watt MH, and a dimmable ballast you can use with either.

Which one do you use for flowering, for a couple weeks till you get more bulb money?

The 1000 watt right?

first off.. dimmable ballasts.. only work with whatever size bulb it runs at 100% .. then u can dim it down to use less.. but u dont use a smalller bulb.. atleast thats wat i was told.

have you already been flowering or are you just about to flower. I would say the 1k if you are just starting to flower and then switch to the 1k hps. but if you have already been flowering I would stick with the 600 w hps because they will really need that red light out of the 2700k bulb. also I guess it would depend on how many plants you have

HPS is for flowering, but don't be try putting a 600watt into a 1000w ballast or vise versa, you will fuck shit up.

Just because it's dimmable doesn't mean you can change bulbs, it just means that it takes said bulb and reduces it's output.

I use my 1000mh as a spare in case a 600 bulb burns out. I really don't like the heat of the 1000mh. I guess I'm sold on 600's

I use 400 Watt bulbs every summer with 600 Lumatek Digitals , of course they are set on 400 and all is well .. Been doing this for years and I use the bulbs for two summers , then they are disposed being that that is about 6 months use on the bulbs ..

Everyone is awesome. If you veg and flower under MH, you'll have fat little low yield plants. Get the 600w HPS ballast and bulb.
