100% smell proof?

So i am about to move out to a appartment i purcahsed in a apparment complex. Which has a spare bedroom i was thinking about dedicating for growing. Going to make sure the the door is always locked with a unique set od keys. As that room will only be for my eyes.

I want to use a tent setup. But my comcern is smell. How can i improve smell proofing? Will be using a tent with Carbon filter. And ona gel in the room that the tent will be..

What are more stuff i can do? Also.. Will the people living in the same appartment complex smell the plants? If i trim and dry inside the tent aswell? And run the exhaust during drying?

One of the main aspects of odor control is knowing the way the air will move about in the space. Making sure any and all air gets "scrubbed" before it leaves the grow room is essential.
As long as you maintain a slight negative to the tent and all exhaust is going through a filter, all should be well. If the tent is the least bit positive, the smell will eventually permeate the whole area ( not good)
So understanding your air movement in and around the tent is going to pay off in huge stealthy benefits.

Get one of those Ozone machines. There between $150-300. And a good charcole filter and you'll be fine.

Some strains have very little smell or they dont smell like pot. Consider that a part of your strategy.

I've tried carbon/ozone/ona gel. Theres always a bit that gets out. If you know what to smell for its obvious.

Another thing to consider is how the smell gets on you.. You'll touch plants, you'll rub up against them etc, it kinda transfers around the house. What kinda sucks is that when I'm done working in my grow op and have to go home is how my ride smells like weed, it just kinda gets into your clothes or on ya.

Air flow control and a quality carbon filter.
I grow Sour D. Zero smell until you open up.

I'm running 2 4x4 tents each with a 6 inc carbon filter and fan inside the tent pulling out and the exhaust line ends into another 6 inch filter outside the tent.. never had any odor problems..

I have got special clothes for my garden only. When I work with plans I wear latex gloves. After plant work I can back home, and don't smell like coffeeshoop

Please be careful with those gloves. Many people have latex allergies and if you offer someone a hit and they have the allergy I hope they don't have any respiratory issues...

I've seen some nasty latex reactions. I can't imagine it'd be any better directly inhaling the stuff directly into the lungs.

Where are you going to Vent the air too. I don't even use a filter because I vent to my attic, no smell at all. With a good vent system your tent area will not smell but that smelly air has to go somewhere. If you cant vent the air outside of the room, then it becomes really hard

ona gel is not worth it the cost is recurring 60 to 90 days

like all the ppl have said it is about venting ..........if u are dumping the air outside tho a portable ac window vent attachment (it is this plastic form with a cut out to let the exhaust from the ac go out ....pull down the shade and it looks like a AC )

now to cover that up u just need the carbon scrubber works for 12 to 15 months then needs to have the active carbon replaced u can buy a new one or buy a refillable one and change the carbon ...............now if u are worried about it and want that extra cover they do make Ozone gen that can fit inside ducting but i only seen them in 8 inch and 10 inch duct sizing not the normal 6 inch ............as if u want u can add a wye duct want put a dampener to close off the end open it up and add in something smelly like laundry sheets (best thing to add is jasmine it masks the smell with dogs)

as for the room itself u can always air polish ..........this is basically a carbon scrubber hung in the room with a fan attached to it sucking from the room dumping back in the room always cleaning the air

the final step is to make sure u have negative pressure .....u do not want the air in the room to flow back out into the apartment ....should always be a draft sucking into that room ...................out side the room get one of these and run it when u need to

it kills any smell and clears out smoke in the air ............i can clip a hp in the room turn this thing on and in 20 mins smells like a hospital ......tested it with ppl that do not know what i do ........if they smelled something they would have been all up my ass about it i know risky test but it had to be done

ok dogs that are trained to detect it ...............u will always set them off u might not smell it or any other human but that dog will bark like u have 5 lbs on yah .......so this is something u always must rem if they say they are bringing dogs around and u have something on yah eat the shit or state u are in a rush u would like the cop to start writing the ticket if the dogs show up by the time it done then ok other wise u want to go on your way ............but if u are busted and know it say i want a lawyer and do not talk to anyone until the commissioner starts asking u basic ?s to set bail ...............this is the only down side to growing your own shit ........everything u own will be tainted with it at some point and time

To me, Ona is now forever synonymous with marijuana. Probably not true with John Q Public, but I'll bet it is with those in the know. Probably better off with normal auto-spray air fresheners.

Don't cheap out on the fan and filter, buy quality you can trust. And have a plan in place for emergencies, say if your fan conks out,or whatever.

Put a pot of cabbage on the stove once every week or so...the neighbors will never know what the heck you got goin on in there...g/l

I grow in a 2 bedroom apartment but have the luck of good air flow which sends the smell out the window as opposed to under the door into the apartment (most days)

I allow the room to be the buffer...then just open a window with a fan blowing out.....I have Ona for those backward air pressure days

I keep a tin of Febreze near the hallway door for the rare occasions that someone should knock....a quick spray will cover the pot scent

Secondly.....grow low stinking strains.....avoid skunk strains

Ill also state that onagel is not worth it. Not in price, nor performance. I found the onagel pots i nought were good for masking smell when you left a jar open for ten minutes to cure. It did absolutely bugger all with regard to the actual grow smell.

depending on the size of your grow there are many options.

If you keep negative pressure on a tent, and exhaust through a quality carbon filter into an attic you will have no problem with smell. If you are exhausting outside you will need to be a lot more careful because even with a good filter it will have a slight odor. I live in an apt and exhaust into the attic and have absolutely no smell issue unless the tent is open.

So much good advice. Apartment growing makes me nervous! Make sure to invest in a phresh filter, good carbon. I use an older one during vegging, and a new one during flower. I recently saw some carbon treated filters that attach on the end of the ducting, that may double scrub the last bit of air leaving the exhaust? Choose low odor strains...nothern, c99, blue mystic have been good stealh for me. Others like Blueberry were much stronger! Main thing is to vent out of your room completly! Do not recirculate carbon scrubbed air back into the room. Either up into attic or out a window. Be careful if its going out a window in proximity to another apartment! As mentioned keep tent closed. A few minutes of daily gardening can leak smell. Also, during flower, I go nuts with plug ins and those cannisters that mist every 10 minutes. Cant take too many precautions. Take extra care trimming and drying as well.
