Welcome to my 10' x 13' room setup!
I just moved into a new place and am eager to get all setup!
First some background on the environment and space.
I come from a townhouse where I was growing on the first floor using 3 4x4 tents and loved it!
Here's a pic of of what it used to look like and what I want it to look like again with the addition of a 4th tent!
The only difference between that photo and now is that I've replaced the 315 LEC light with a 1000 watt HPS light in a 6" vented hood.
This is a shot of how the new room looked upon me moving in. It's 10' x 13' x 9' high. PERFECT!
In this photo you can see the doorless entry and the central AC intake above it.
Here's the plans I made beforehnd to make sure everything fit and I had a foot of clearance on each side of the tents so I can get to the back for pruning.
I also made plans so once I can afford it I can add a 4th tent without too much hassle.
This is what the room looks like now and once I unpacked everything.
This photo shows the exhaust system of the window I framed. I have a piece of ducting closing the bottom port for testing purposes and will be covering up any air leaks with foil tape. The top port is for exhaust and the bottom port was initially for intake, however I learned as a good student always does that these ports are too close together and the bottom port only pulls the hot air from the lights back through it and into the room.
This picture shows my initial plans of how I wanted the intake to work, with the fan pulling fresh air from outside using the bottom port of the window.
This top view of the tents shows me putting one continuous tube of ducting through the bottom of the tents and poking holes in it for airflow.
Because the exhaust port is so close to the intake port I need to figure something else out because it's pushing hot air right back into the room unless I cover it until the environment is dialed in.
This is a quick sketch of how my lighting is setup right now. I need to work on this because I have temps that exceed 100 degrees.
For easy reference of this article we will refer to these tents as tent 1, tent 2, and tent 3 in order from left to right.
In this photo it shows my smell elimination system. I bought 3 4" fans, speed controllers, and 200 cfm scrubbers from amazon with the hopes that I can have one scrubber in each tent scrubbing the smell at the source. This way I have to only pop out and replace each scrubber after every harvest!
I herniated the same disk in my back twice within the past year so having equipment I can carry easily is a must for me.
Here's a picture of the door I designed for the doorless entry to the next room where I sleep.
Weighs but 5 pounds and can stick to the wall with velcro, Thank the universe for velcro. THANK IT! lol
And then look at the door when it's on the wall in all it's glory. LOOK AT IT!
So this is where I'm at currently.
I need help with 2 things:
1: smell proofing this room
2: getting temps down
The problem I have with the smell system is middle tent is currently pushing air into the tent from the exhaust of the first tent. The other two tents have negative pressure.
What I've tried so far:
* turning the speed controller up on the fan in tent 1 and the speed controller down in tent 3
* exchanged the T's that go on top of the two big tents out for wye's, theres still tons of pressure coming into the second tent.
The problem I have with temps is the tents get to 106 degrees within 30 minutes.
What I've tried so far:
* keeping the central AC unit to 60 degrees
* turning up the speed controller on the 8" fan in the 1st tent to full
* opened the bottom ports of each tent for passive intake
* closed off bottom port of framed window to prevent hot air from coming back into the room.
How can I get this dialed in?
I will be posting this on several sites to get the most feedback.
I've already contacted 2 consultants in Denver with no success.
Every day the lights aren't on I lose money.
I'm sure you guys know the struggle.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
