2 lbs from a 400w MH is going to be tough m8 even if your pulling max yeild of 1g per watt and we count the CFL's you have something like 556 actual watts which comes out to roughly 20 Oz and thats at 1g per watt and counting the CFL's which generally dontpull 1g per watt. so if you got 2 lbs then you would be pulling almost around 1.6g per watt and for a first grow i just dont see it happening. Not thrying ot burst your bubble but earlier you said you have learned to under shoot your goals as to not be dissapointed so im just trying to break things down for you.

Im not saying it cant be done. but with your setup its highly unlikely. a good goal for you would be around 10 Oz dry weight on your first run and thats 1/2 g per watt wich is above average for first time growers. if you can pull this off on your first grow i would say the 1 lb mark on your second grow is definatly obtainable. by your 4th grow you should be able to get it all dialed in and get that 20 oz.

again im not trying to sound negative in any way, just realisticly looking at it.

also by the time them first plants are done flowering i would like to bet that you will have some sort of veg setup going so you can have more plants ready to rock the flower tent when room becomes available so there goes some of your wattage to that.

and if i may suggest picking up a HPS bulb instead of the MH for flower would add more weight, then you can suppliment the blue spectrum with some CFL's. they claim that MH bulbs which are more of a blue spectrum will add potency but lack in overall yeild. And that the HPS which ois more of a red spectrum will give your more weight and less potency. I have no scientific backing to this claim myself but its a common theory so worth looking into. personally i have flowered with both and they do both work just fine. i like the MH better just because i hate looking at the orange light the HPS gives off, but in my flowering room i run HPS even though i have both bulbs. I would like to eventually supliment some blue light in there so i can have a broader spectrum but that wil lcome with time.

anyways...just my opinions. ill be following along and cant wait to see this thing get started.

he can do it. keep the nute ppm lower than normal (till theyre a lot older), and VERY STABLE/CONSTANT.

Thanks for the advice, I really hope i get a pound though, I need to eventually be able to grow 2 a month to be self sufficent, lets hope I figure it out within the year. Its a case of if you want something done right you got to do it yourself, the buds I'm smoke are picked early and dried quickly its driving me nuts that no one around here knows how to grow.

wll like i said earlier 1g per wat just keep that in mind. if you have to expand your operation after the first grow to get what you want then gotta do what you gotta do right ?

Well all the seeds are in rockwool now, my guts say no photos so i will go with that for now, i am gettng rid of this pc soon. I planted after 2 1/2 days soaking. Half the seeds had 2-3mm roots the other half had cracked at least. Funniest thing I ever saw, that puts paid to the myth it doesnt matter which way you plant them. One of my seeds broke through today and i just checked it to find the root tip was face the lights with the leaves buried down, I quickly turned it upside down and replanted it, it seemed quite vigorous despite the fact its root tip had 5-6 hrs light.

if your concerned about the photos being on your PC when you get rid of it just remove the hard drive before you get it.
