1 top, 2 tops, 3 tops...30 tops. How many tops is an auto supposed to have?

So I have been wondering how many tops other fellow growers have been able to get on their auto plants? Not photos but autos only. Photos we all know we can veg the shit out of them and top/fim/super crop etc. With autos you have to be very strategic with anything more than LST and even LST is tough to do on autos because you can definitely stunt growth, effect yield, etc.

Not sure about LST stunting growth. That’s why it’s called low stress training. The whole idea doing LST is to level things out and to provide even light to the bud sights.

I’d think it stunts it a little but nothing major.

Also I know it varies was just curious what other people had for number of tops. I have over 30 on mine. Probably more haven’t counted.

Yeah I get what lst is for hence why I have so many nice tops growing in

Was just hoping to see more responses to get an idea of others performance

At least 30 tops that I can shape to finalize the canopy. Hoping more because I have more shoots coming up underneath all of the top ones. Will try and get those more light so they catch up...

Toking on a little of this while I wait for my other two autos to flower. Also have two critical + photos going in 1st and 2nd week of veg respectively...

Is that dark deviled cured ? Cuz that green matter should have been clipped.

Yes that batch was just freshly cut and dried for 5 days. Came from a stunted plant so the buds are kind of airy and dried quicker than I wanted it. I normally trim the rest of the buds after I cure the buds then I’ll put the cured leaf matter into storage for hash making later on...only yielded about 20gs from two plants...I do trim most of the large stuff prior to drying then about day 3, I trim some more and at day 7 I give it one last final trim then jar.

Personally didn't care for Dark Devil that much ..... Nothing special smoke.
Plant created resin droplets during grow ... Very sticky and perfumey .
Buds were dark almost blackish ...

You can see the slight darkening in leaf that will express later on.

Took remainder and made vape juice using VG only.
Much smoother smoke and more satisfying than smoking straight flower.

Yeah a pretty girl but I’ve had better. I just like her smell and look.

Looking forward to the sour diesel to finish off and I have another dark Devil in flower now which should produce a nice yield since she wasn’t stunted at all. The sour not even sure what to expect from her ...she’s got some good growth and decent bud sites I need to shower with light now.

The two criticals I got going I plan on vegging until about 1.25 to just under 1.5 feet then flipping her. Worried about the flower stretch as I only have about 3.75 feet between pot soil top and lights.

If the Criticals are autos - Not sure what you mean about flipping an auto. You really can’t control veg and flower times. They happen when they happen.

I thought that might be the case. I don’t know if this is your 1st grow or you’re a seasoned grower. Just trying to keep things straight.

Far from seasoned and definitely 1st grow season of our specific species. lol. Ive gone through 6 plants now. 4 were a bust and 2 were low yielders (stunted). Only brought in about 20gs total from both plants. Wasnt expecting much anyways but that was a bummer However, I grow a ton of veggies and fruits outside with great yields. Make my own soil and feed them all organic stuff.

I am trying to stay as organic as I can and am using just a small amount of bottle/bag nutes: jumpstart and amp-it for my amino acids, vitamins, micros...biomin calcium for calcium....coast of maine organic plant food for added macros....epsom salt....recharge for my bennies....coconut water and aloe vera juice during veg to help building strong roots and keeping the plants nice and compact...and just a little more molasses when flowering starts ----my soil is coast of maine stonington blend "super soil".

So im experienced just by book and learning from more experienced growers and then testing it out (in the beginning when I screwed up 4 plants. That was my learning stage and now I have a nutrient system down pat, a watering regimen that keeps plants nice and moist but not drenched with a little bit of dry time in between waterings, lighting is decent, the environment is above average imo with nothing special but its very compact, clean, and well constructed with sound/heat/cold insulation, sealed tight with a good exhaust fan and filter.

So I planned ahead, learned the basics, semi-mastered the basics, learned new tricks, picked up some new tricks from better growers, dialed in my grow room and now I just need to get the 4 I got going successfully completed. 1 in definite flower, the other starting to flower (I think lol) and two 12 days and 4 days into veg.

Nyc Diesel (topped) - 14 of diffent size

Amnesia Haze (topped, LST, small braches removed, defoliated) - 30-40 in a flat level 2ft canopy

It was watering day on the day of these pics so the leaves are a little droopy. She was pretty light at that point in terms of water/soil weight...
